Kia ora all. Apologies that there have been no updates for a while. It's been a busy first few weeks of the term.
Unfortunately our Tamariki Tag has not been able to kick off this year. A lot of rugby teams have already started their pre season rugby training leaving numbers low and /or our volunteer help being tied up with other commitments.
With that being said, there are still opportunities for tamariki to play rippa rugby or rugby for the Tongariro Sports Club.
The ages range from U6's, U7's, (rippa rugby) U9's, U11's and U'13's (rugby).
This is a Saturday morning competition run mainly in Taupo, but Turangi do get to host some games as well.
If you are interested in getting the kids involved message me and i can point you in the right direction.
Also the Dambuster rugby League Club are taking registrations for intetested Tamariki. They are holding a Family Festival Day on the 3rd march from 10am-12:30pm at Turangitukua park.
Take your whanau down for some skills, drills and games.

Kia Ora Whanau.

Wednesday 6th December will be the last day for Tamariki Tag for the year. So please all turn up for our last hit out. Please bring water and sunhats, as it has been very hot.
Could we all turn up at 3:4pm, so that we can start bang on 4pm.

We will start a proper competition in Term 1, 2018. I'm looking at week 2, so early - mid February.
I do need help from parents to manage teams for our tamariki. It would be easier each week, and now that our tamariki have been exposed to play tag, all they'll have to worry about would be to turn up and have their games.

For the last month or so, we've had some awesome parents step up and help which is very awesome. It also takes the pressure off our organisers and refs.

If there are any parents keen to jump on board, please let us know. It would be very much appreciated.

I just want to send a special shout out to our Ozzy TGI whanau who sent back alot of Oztag gear for our rangatahi last year. I have handed out all that was generously donated and the kids love them.

Hey adults, encourage your kids to take advantage of this kaupapa. Youth town are doing this all year. Free of charge. Thanks to the Turangi Sports Foundation for organising this opportunity for our Tamariki to get active, have fun, be part of a team and learn some new games and skills.
