Tuatapere Golf Club

Tuatapere Golf Club One of the best 9-hole courses in Southland. The course is located on a former racecourse and is nestled close to bushclad limestone cliffs.

This course has a good variety of holes and the alternative tee locations create a totally different course second time round. Bellbird terrace is a great location to hear the native bird in full song. If you are visiting the South to walk the Humpridge track make sure you allow an extra few hours to play this gem of a course. Men’s club day: Saturday, tee off at 12.30
Ladies’ club day: Wednesday, tee off at 10.30am

Green Fees $20
Visitors always welcome

05th Sep Results: 7 players - Orepuki Tavern Monthly Medal
Despite the wet conditions underfoot, the course drained well and the greens held up impressively, rolling true throughout. With mild, warm temperatures adding to the pleasant conditions, it made for an enjoyable round out on the course.
With the Golfer of the Year race now a two-horse battle between two of the club's life members, today presented a good opportunity for both to pick up valuable points.

Congrats to Truckie - Monthly Medal Orepuki Tavern Aug winner.

08th August Results - Monthly Medal - Nine players today:

🥇🏆 Congrats to Wayne Laurie on winning the Orepuki Tavern Aug Monthly Medal (on count back) with a down-to-the-wire 44 & 46 = 90-17-73. Truckie was quick to point out that this was no fluke as this is his second MM win this year.

🥈Nigel Fowle battled away, ending up with an arduous 39 & 44 = 83-10-73 to take the runner-up position. Golfaholics will be expecting to see Mr Fowle claim at least one of the two remaining MM opportunities to join the winners list, to battle it out for the prized McDowell Trophy in Nov.

🥉 Bruce Howden was a distance third, two shots back, with a solid (did more than his fair share in the DKO match) 85-10-75.

🎊 Murray Ottley (on countback) had a gritty 96-20-76. By the sounds of it, Murray's round ‘could have been’ at least ten shots better. What this space!

In other matches - DKO:
🏆 The hot favourites Bruce & Duke managed to get away from their respective lambing beats, by combining well, to beat (3 up) the wise old heads of Murray & Colin. The final will be played in a few weeks time. Who have you got your money on? Life members Nigel & Truckie or the Presidents (current and ex) Bruce & Duke?

🍻 Fowle Contracting NTP 3&12 - Nigel F.
Duke Diack NTP 6 - Truckie.
Longest Putt on a tricky 4/13 green - Duke.
Nett Eagles - PB (holes 2 & 14).
Birdie & Nett Eagle hole - no 13 - jackpots $5.
Twos: Bruce and Duke (chip in).
NTP 15 ($14) and 2 x Twos ($230) - jackpots.

Best Gross sponsored by Bruce Howden Farms - Nigel F with a 83 gross. Recipient of a brand new Pro V1.

Country Rovers - Mr D Chamberlain 88 and Mr G Diack 82.

Note: this coming Monday is the usual monthly meeting starting at 7pm.

🏅Thank you to the busy Blayne for the championship pin placements. Thank you to the Waikato boys for their superb efforts by maintaining the bunkers. Thank you to the special (Phil?) person who weaved their magic on number 3 green with the drainage issues. It was certainly noted that there was less water on the surface around the front edge.

🥂 Te Anau Classic congrats and acknowledgement to the Tui players who were on the prize list - Derek for his two and to Zack & Nigel for their top ten placing.
