Very sad news to hear of Rob’s passing, he was definitely one of the good ones. Nicest gentleman in the pits, clean but hard racer on the track, and always up for a laugh and a beer after the racing. Definitely a great role model to aspire to

Hello to all the race fans out there,
We have been very quiet on this page lately as we didn't race this past season, but we have in no way been lazy behind the scenes! Over the next few weeks Ill post some updates on the changes within the team and from there keep you all up to date as we prepare for the 2023/24 race season.

In the meantime if you are missing out on your racing fix, all x5 episodes of 'Dirt' is on Flo Racing at the below link which is a great look at speedway racing and is an especially good watch when that bad weather is keeping you inside! Even better is its free to watch!

NASCAR superstar Kyle Larson takes on hot-headed, up-and-comer Justin Grant at the crown jewel event of midget racing: the Chili Bowl.

Last day for the SNZ rule remits, make sure you have your say on both the open wheeled category as well as the midget category. The ECU rule specifically if passed will effect the majority of competitors due to the wording.

Speedway in NZ has over 13,000 crew and competitors throughout the country. Racing that's out of this world!

Covid may have paused our racing, but it hasn’t stopped the arrival of our latest crew member! Ricky and Wendy’s beautiful daughter Ayla has come into the world, and the little family is doing great and are back home again. Although Ayla doesn’t quite fit the race gear yet, she will be into our driver development programme in a few years time!

With yet another lockdown announced in August, the team made the decision to only run a short season again this year. Bill Buckley and the team have treated us very well at Baypark Speedway, however with the decision to run a dramatically shortened season the team have instead registered to Kihikihi Speedway who only have a few midget meetings scheduled for the season. Like all Auckland based teams we are unable to race until the country moves into the traffic light COVID response system, which means realistically we would not be able to race until 2022. All Speedway New Zealand titles have also been cancelled for this season, due to the uncertainty of when the country will moved into the traffic light system and then be able to plan around this. Because of all of the above, the team have now decided to sit out this season and instead work on preparing for the following season. Behind the scenes the team have been busy working on upgrades to the race trailer, freshening the midget, new team wear, and so on. With the decision not to run this season the team will be able to finish all of these projects (and of course spend time with the new addition to the team) and arrive fresh and ready to attack the 2022/23 season.

With the season now well and truly finished and the team begins the off season rebuild, we have looked back at how we have performed this season.

We only competed at 9 events this season, but still finished within the top 10 at every event including:
1st Taranaki Champs
1st King of the Mountain
3rd West Coast Champs
5th Baypark 50 Lapper

The only exception to our top ten season was when we had two DNF (Did Not Finish) results. The first of these was a minor roll over at the New Zealand Grand Prix, which was our first crash within the past 3 years. The second DNF was voluntary to prevent damage.

Although we are running less events then we have previously, we are very happy with the results we are achieving at these events.

So this then raises the question, what is planned for next season?

The midget is undergoing its yearly rebuild, and the team is committed to a minimum of three events...Defending our two titles and improving on last seasons result at the West Coast Champs. The rest of the season will depend on what funds we can raise during the off season, however one thing's for sure we are still having a massive amount of fun out there in our Bullet Mopar! Keep tuned over the next few months to keep up with how the rebuild is going!
