Well, that's a wrap........What an incredible journey it’s been over the past 19 years. We’ve been truly blessed to walk alongside you — sharing in your lives, your stories, and your milestones.

We are really proud of what we have been able to achieve of creating an amazing community/whanau within a community.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Though this chapter closes, the story we’ve shared will live on in every one of us.

Thank you for the memories — we’ll carry them with us always,

We will take some time to rest and reset.

Kia ora Y Whanau,
From tomorrow (Wednesday) 9am-7pm, our doors will be open to the Stadium to sell the remaining gym equipment and miscellaneous from the Y.
Commercial-grade strength equipment, shelving units, spin bikes and more remain and need to go.

Unless labelled for items already sold, all sales will be first-in, first-served and no holds will be made. Enquire to the Y Team for prices on the day.

Wow, Wow and Wow.........what amazing turn out for our farewell. Thank you all so much. Thank you all for your kind words on the memory wall. We could feel the love with the community that has been created within the walls of our facility. So many moments of the evening we have talking about as we work our way through decommissioning the gym this week.

With news on our closure forthcoming, and after more than 20 incredible years serving our community, we’re inviting all our members — past, present, and casual — to come together one last time as we celebrate the people, memories, and moments that made our gym so special. 💛

Join us Friday October 31st from 4pm as we say farewell to a place that’s been more than just a gym — it’s been our . We’ll have snacks and nibbles provided, and it’s BYO drinks to toast the good times.

Please note that we’ll be closed on Monday, 27th October for Labour Day.

✅ 24/7 members over 16 years of age can still access the facility as usual.
🚫 No group fitness classes will run on this day.

🚣 Y Fitness League Challenge: 500m Row Sprint! 🚣‍♀️

The final challenge is set — 500m on the rower — one of the most difficult and most popular challenges in the Y Fitness League. The goal is simple: row 500 metres as fast as you can.

✅ A staff member must record or verify your time.
🔁 You can make multiple attempts, but only your fastest row will be recorded.

This challenge will count toward the Y Fitness League Annual Leaderboard. Every second makes a difference and could shift the final standings of 2025.

🏆 At the end of the competition, the overall champion will be awarded the Y Fitness League Trophy.

This is your final chance to push hard, test your speed, and climb the leaderboard. Who will rise to the top?

More teams, More workouts, More fun all round 💪💪

An awesome turnout for our second-ever Battle of the Trainers event in the Stadium, with all the members pushing themselves outside their comfort zone in a high-energy and highly-competitive circuits of Wall Balls, Push Ups, Assault Bike & Farmers Carries!

A big congratulations to the All-Star team for beating the trainers & claiming the top prize, and to all members for turning up on the day!

🌟 Member of the Month: Pip! 🌟

This month we’re celebrating Pip and her incredible achievements on her fitness journey! Over the past 12 months, Pip has dedicated herself to making time for her health and wellbeing—resulting in an amazing 10kg weight loss!

As a busy mum of four, Pip knows how precious her time is. She has shared that her gym sessions are her chance to 'leave her troubles at the door', giving her the space to think less and just move. That mindset has not only helped her create consistency but has also brought her so much joy and energy back into her daily life.

Pip has become a regular face in Debbie’s Group Fitness classes — including Muscle Max, Y’s Tone, Core & More as well as JT’s Dance classes. Her commitment to these sessions has paid off, with huge improvements in her strength, fitness, and overall confidence.
What we love most about Pip is her determination, positivity, and willingness to keep pushing herself forward. She’s proof that even with the busiest of schedules, it’s possible to make time for yourself—and that small, consistent steps lead to big results.

Congratulations, Pip! This is only the beginning of your journey, and we can’t wait to see what amazing milestones you’ll reach next. 💪👏

🌟 Youth Member of the Month: Olivia! 🌟

This month, we’re excited to celebrate Olivia as our Y Youth Member of the Month! Since joining the Y, she has shown incredible dedication and growth in her fitness journey, making her a shining example of what consistency and commitment can achieve.

Olivia first began her journey by working with our trainer David, who built her a custom programme to help kick things off. Since then, she has taken that foundation and truly run with it—now attending the gym multiple times a week. Whether it’s morning, late evening workout or anything in between, Olivia always shows up and gives it her best effort.

We have loved seeing how she often brings along her brother or mum to share in her workouts, while also having the confidence to train independently. Her journey has included an amazing achievement in weight loss, but beyond the physical progress, it’s Olivia’s positivity and consistency that stand out the most.

She is often seen chatting with members and staff, bringing a friendly and welcoming energy to the gym floor. Olivia has become not only a dedicated member but also a valued part of our Y community.

💪 September Y Fitness League Challenge – The Hercules Hold 🏋️‍♂️

Think you’ve got the grip strength of a legend? This month’s challenge is all about the Hercules Hold – testing how long you can hold onto two heavy weights without letting go.

🔹 The Goal: Hold the weights for as long as possible (Women = 3kg Dumbbells; Men = 6kg Dumbbells).
🔹 How to Enter: See a staff member to set up your attempt and get your time recorded.
🔹 Rules:
- Arms must remain extended at your sides (no resting on thighs or body).
- Weights must stay off the ground until you can’t hold them anymore.
- Longest time wins!

This is a true test of strength, endurance, and grit – open to all members. 🏆
