South Waikato Swimming Pools South Waikato District Council manages three pool facilities - Indoor Pools in Tokoroa and seasonal pools in Putaruru and Tirau.

Big progress happening behind the scenes!

Last week, our Elected members got a closer look at the upgrades underway at the South Waikato Indoor Pools and our Library-turned-community hub. 🙌🏼

Exciting progress is continuing on the Indoor Pools Refurbishment Project
We are pleased to share that the project remains on time and on budget, with progressing well across the facility.

This upgrade will deliver a modern aquatic space for our community to enjoy. We appreciate the community’s patience and support while this important investment is completed and look forward to welcoming everyone back when the facility reopens.
Late September 26
Works Completed May 26
• External plant areas louvre screens installation underway
• HVAC plant moved into the building and buffer tank delivered and installed
• HVAC ducting installs in progress
• Joinery installation underway in reception, meeting room, staff room, and laundry
• Wall lining/stopping installation underway in change village and the admin areas
• Wall painting prep works in progress
• Water treatment main plant room and plant pipework 99% complete, plant room electrical pre -wire completed
• Wellbeing plant room fit, progressing well
• Plumbing and electrical second fix completed in change village
• Hydrostatic testing of kids pools underway
• Waterproofing has started on the leisure pools
• Final landscaping and outside designs completed💦

Welcome to Term 2!

We’re excited to invite both our returning customers and new friends to our upcoming Learn to Swim Classes 💙

📅 Start Date: Monday, 27th April
📅 End Date: Monday, 22nd June
📆 Duration: 8-week term

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: As Monday, 27th April is a public holiday, that class will instead be held on Friday, 1st May.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐬
Parents are required to accompany their preschoolers in the water to ensure comfort and safety. Together, we’ll help our little swimmers build confidence, learn essential skills, and create lasting memories.

Private Lessons Available
$16 – One-on-one (25 minutes)
$24 – One-to-two (same family, 25 minutes)

⚠️🤝 The following Civil Defence Centres are in operation today (Sunday, 12 April.) Please note these centres are for people who are in an unsafe position or in need of welfare. If you are in immediate danger please call 111 - Civil Defence and SWDC are not your first responders.

Putāruru Summer Pool Closure 💙

The Putāruru Summer Pools are now closed for the season.

We’ll still be accommodating the swimming club and some school bookings this week. 😊

• Aluminium joinery installation completed
• Scaffold birdcage in main pool hall installed for ceiling access
• Kingspan wall cladding installation underway – 80% complete
• Pad prep for external plant areas underway
• HVAC ducting brackets first fix underway
• Water treatment main plant room plant and pipework 97% complete, plant room electrical underway
• Ceiling rondo and insulation installation complete in admin and change village
• Pre line inspection passed in admin and change village
• Degadur (flooring) coving completed throughout
• Glulam remedial screwing 100% complete, re coating and epoxy in progress
• Landscaping developed design progressing well
