HUNTERS meet Jo Street on top turf at 6pm ready to go!!

We’ll have a warm up and practice some drills.

Please make sure you have mouth & shin guards or no play

Games will hopefully start at 3.30 pm - Every 35mins.15min each way ( half hour games)

Game 2 - 4.05pm

*meet at 3.30pm for warm up & quick drils...please don;t be late as not much time to get you all together and sorted first game...meet top turf

Game 4 - 5.15pm
All Saints 🆚 Tokirima Tigers
*meet at 4.45pm for warm up and drills...please don't be late so we can crack into it.

MOUTHGUARDS & SHINPADS COMPULSORY!!!
long socks or tap will help for spare shinpads at turf
sticks provided, first in first served
mouthguards available at turf but recommend getting it moulded beforehand.

THERE WILL BE A TRAINING AT TOKIRIMA SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY LUNCH SO BRING SHINPADS, MOUTHGURDS & STICK IF YOU HAVE Tokirima Students.

TIGERS & HUNTERS,
WELCOME TO THE 2025 SEASON!!

Teams have been based on kids who have played together before, family dynamics (so that you don't have to stick around for two games) and a more junior and senior team.

I believe this will be better for all kids to play alongside their own skill level which will mean they get involved more often and their confidence will grow. More importantly they'll have a bloody GOOD time!

For those who missed it, JUNIOR HOCKEY is underway on
Wednesday 12th March on the bottom turf at Taumarunui High School-2025 for 12 weeks.
NOTE, Small Sticks will start on Wednesday 5th March.
Starting 3.30pm - 6.30pm = Half hour games
* Please return registration sheets to your school with $20 per player.
*Please send water, sunscreen and hats with your players as it might still be hot at the turf at this time of the year. Toilets' are available at the community pool until 6.30pm and the high school gym until 8pm.

IMPORTANT!
Shinpad's & Mouthguard's are both compulsory this year!! if you don't have them please get organised for first game.

As with previous seasons we'll have a warm up before the games and a quick skill session for those that are not practicing at home or school. If kids are wanting to practice...the easiest and best they could do is practice dribbling a ball (keeping it on their stick) and slowly doing this faster as they become more competent. Then practice an "indian dribble" if they've mastered this. A hit (stick not above shoulders) and push are also worth mastering.

If anybody wants to help out with either team this year then please let me know, as we know many hands make lite work and will be good for the kids too, to mix it up.

Can't wait to get amongst another great season!

Hockey Hoodies have finally arrived just in time for Summer 😆. note, we went for larger sizes so kids should be all good!

The idea brewed from Heath's mind after seeing other sports teams that had hoodies "why can't we have hoodies too?"
Why not?...after a bit of help from teacher's at school and asking around town for some items to raffle we're off!
$5 a ticket

We have our teams locked in for 2024. If your child can not make a game a heads up is much appreciated. Just message FB chat group. I have deliberately kept teams small so that we only have a max of two kids on sideline which equals more game time but it means we are running a very lean machine!
Looking forward to a cracker season with some rowdy support on the sidelines!!

Will finalise teams this week but at this stage St Pat’s & NVS are combining but might grab a couple spare for Hunters. Tokirima have one full team and some will mix for Hunters team.

Will have warm up from 4pm for Hunters, St Pat’s & NVS and a warm for Tigers at 5.20pm.

Mouthguards available at turf for $6 but try and get moulded beforehand as easier.

Shinpads highly recommended…some avaiat turf just have long socks.

Sticks available at turf too
