It was a great social evening in the Bronze group last Wednesday, with Ashley pleased with the bar takings!! Cheryl Begg said about the evening « I thought that was what bridge was about - socialising and having fun ». Great initiative from the Bronze group

At the Geraldine 8B tournament last Sunday Lesley Andrew and Kay Nicholas got second in Division One with Paula Prendergast and Uneta Denley fourth. In Division Two Vivian Hill and Jeanette Meier were second.

Jillian Lister and Jenny Johnson were the first members of the Grand Slam Club in 2026 bidding and making 7NT doubled. On the same night May Mould and Carole Brand made 7H as did AnneMarie Pavletich and Cath Preen a week later.

Trophies were presented at the club AGM 4 December.

The Allard Trophy for top placed Timaru pair in the New Zealand wide pairs was presented to Dianne Esler and Dot Rapley

Uneta Denley and Pauline Prendergast won the Renee Payne trophy for the Timaru pair with the highest score in any session of the South Canterbury Congress pairs
