Kia Ora all,
Not long to go before season starts on October 12! We cant wait! Draw out by Tuesday 8th, hopefully sooner.
We welcome new teams Rangataua Huimai and Tauranga Assassins in the Ladies division and Papamoa Giants, Rotorua United and FCU Softball from Waikato into the Men's division.
I will be working up at the park next Saturday 5th 12pm-4pm and Sunday 6th 9am-4pm if anyone has any free time to come and help. Lots of jobs to get the park ready to go.
MALE PLAYERS NEEDED, for Rangiuru Hammerheads and Rangataua Brothers - if you know of anyone who would like to play softball this season, contact Anaru 021 590177 for Rangiuru or Di for Rangataua 0211320248
The new astroturf batters boxes have been laid and looking AWESOME. They are designed to grip, so please take care when sliding into home plate and we would advise not sliding on them in shorts. Cleats are allowed to be used.
More Exciting news!
We have teamed up with Tauranga City Baseball to enhance our T-Ball and U13 softball/baseball competition on Saturday mornings. The six week league will commence from the 2nd of November to the 21st of December. No fees for both junior grades.
Have-a-go days are proposed for Sunday 13th October and Sunday 20th October 10am-12pm All Welcome! These will be at Carlton Reserve Bellevue, Gordon Spratt Reserve Papamoa and Western Ave Sportsground Omokoroa (TBC). Help Needed for these events please.
Also, it is early days. but council are looking at moving Tauranga Baseball from Gordon Spratt Reserve (Over subscribed) to the grass field at Carlton Reserve. This will basically allow for a third skin diamond with fixed backstops for Softball use on a Saturday and for Baseball use on a Sunday. We will work Tauranga City Council and our friends at Tauranga Baseball to further develop full Diamond Ball facilities at Carlton Reserve.
