While we’ve still been active and training hard in our PT and Small Group sessions- things have been a little quiet on the page this year.
With much of my focus (and many hours) on my Master’s degree- I am happy to have completed that in July- and with the knowledge I have gained over the past 18months👩‍🎓

After a long-awaited surgery on my back later this month, I will be opening up some spaces in September for personal training, and adding some more small group sessions to the week.

We are back into training for 2025, and with the New Year, and its changes in schedules, it means we have opened up an additional small group class. With this, comes a couple of spaces across the small group sessions, and your rare chance to grab your spot in one of these! Space in the following classes available:

Mon 3.30pm Now FULL
Tues 6.15am
Tues 5.30pm
Fri 9am

These sessions are an on-going commitment(should you like them) and are in a fun and supportive group of 6-8 others.

Today I got my end of semester results for my special nutrition paper, of which I got nearly full marks inside those A+s.
None of those A+s on my transcript came easy.
I have to be passionate about something to even do it in the first place, and my brain has to work very hard to sit down and focus for long periods of time required for research. Studying full time with a job, kids and many difficult family matters on my hands has been incredibly difficult.

But I have learnt so much. And hope that my kids can see what hard work it takes to get to their own goals one day too 💪

The importance of individual goals.
Even if you are training in a small group session and not a 1-1, your own personal goals are the focus. At the moment most our crew are in a 6-week challenge. For someone this may be about a weight goal, for someone else it’s improving their run time, and for one of these ladies it was to hold a handstand. She’s been working hard to shift from doing these against a wall, to lengthening her time there freestanding.
And the beauty of our small groups, is we all get to encourage each others goals, sometimes work on them too, and sometimes inspire others along our journey 💕

A few weeks ago I had a great day out with my daughters class, as they tested their resilience at a tree top high ropes course. One of my daughter’s friends had tried several times to complete the first course, and kept getting stuck about a third of the way through the obstacles.
She put on a brave face, but I could sense her disappointment. When I came down from another level I asked her if she would like some help. She said, it’s ok, I’ve tried a few times and can’t do it. I asked her, when she kept getting stuck, did anyone try to help her achieve that obstacle, or did they just keep getting her down and rescuing her? She said they just got her down from the course. I said to her, that I can tell she would really like to do it, and would she let me help her? She said OK.
At assembly on Friday, this young lady recalled her written story about that day to her school. She said she kept getting stuck, and it wasn’t until I came and helped her that she got through it, and she was so happy to have done it, and how she loved the rest of the course. In her story she said something along the lines of ‘sometimes all we need is a little help’, to achieve the things we want to in life.
And her recount of her day and what that meant to her has stuck with me.
Because she didn’t want to give up.
And she didn’t want or need rescuing.
All she needed was someone she trusted, and a little help, and she was capable of achieving it 💕
