This far out it is looking good. A good opportunity to get out on the water.
We had a good turn out at the 2nd Annual Carbotec Masters Regatta. It was a beautiful weekend with some nice sailing conditions. Saturday was short course match racing and Sunday was out to targets and back, some sailors cutting through the mangroves! It was fun. A solid fleet of 13 Frostbites and 5 in the open fleet across both days. Congratulations to Dan Bush taking out the overall win in his Finn! Adrian Pawson took out the Frostbite fleet win and the overall Handicap win in Charisma. Well done Adrian! Closely followed by Tom Parrish in Phred who was consistent as ever. Tom Bell and Sean got third on Handicap overall the IA, Gemini showing up quite a few of us by gaining and passing after the frostbites had left 5 mins before. Well done you guys!
Last weekend was the 100th Anniversary of the Wakatere club. We had an invitation and turned up with 7 Frostbites on Saturday for the two races and Geoff Shearman in Shadze on Sunday for the sail to the Masonic and back. There were a lot of boats out there and it was great to see the fleet do a sail past the iconic starting tower there at Narrowneck. Wakatere were really appreciative that TSC supported them and turned up.
Adrian Pawson took out the Frostbite fleet win. Well done again Adrian! Tom Parrish and Brent Jefferies got a 2nd each. It was challenging sailing with a pretty big sea state, flat light and around 14 knots that day. Well done to all our sailors who went out there
The Wooden boat Festival is coming up and we have some boats in there so make sure you go check it out. It is looking like it will be an impressive display
Auckland Wooden Boat Festival 2026
We look forward to seeing you this Sunday.
As always, 20 boats! We are consistently getting 15 and the conditions are looking good for all our sailors this weekend.
Kind regards,
Paddy
