An upsie downsie walk today from Thames - Rocky's walk to Tinkers Gully. Took 4 of us 3.5 hours including morning tea and lunch stops. An new, enjoyable albeit steep walk for all of us. Paddle in the sea at Kuranui Bay was a bonus!

We will have our AGM on Sunday 22nd August 11.00am at the Old Forge Kitchen - 9 Alexandra Rd, Te Aroha West, followed by lunch. Please RSVP the Old Forge directly if you are attending for lunch. We will have important constitutional matters to discuss regarding the future of the club so please make an effort to attend - all welcome

A hot one today for a walk into the new hut in the Kaimais - Te Whare Okioki (the resting place) is a serviced hut with mod cons - solar power and phone charging station.

A walk to a local Pa site today. The terraced hill is quite distinct with kumara pits and a midden site still evident. A beautiful, very hot day with lovely views of the Kaimais and maunga

Just posted the next six months programme. As all of the walks are around four hours or less we will plan to leave the Domain at 9.00am for every walk to make it easier for people to remember.

Family and friends are welcome to join us on our walks. There are always new places to explore, old favourites to revisit and friends to catch up with – and if you have any suggestions for future walks – please share your ideas!

Walk Leaders needed for a well established Walking Festival in April 2019. Please tag people who may be interested in showcasing their favourite walk to locals and visitors. Could be a big tramp or a smaller walk with a twist eg story telling etc
