Playing or training in ur chosen sport will mainly focus on developing ur technical attributes. An example of this is football. From playing u will develop a better ball skills such as passing shooting and dribbling.
But have u ever thought about improving physically? So u can out muscle the opponent, jump higher than the opposition to win a header, or have faster footwork to take players on?
Are u engaging all of ur muscles? That’s why ur slower that most players. U could be overusing some muscles? Maybe that’s the reason ur always injured.
Recently I’ve been working with Briar who is looking to get back into the boxing ring again post pregnancy. Though boxing training may improve her technique and basic fundamental skills it won’t give her the physical conditioning needed for the sport.
We have been working on improving her footwork, speed, and power. With everything we do as specific as can be to boxing. We are working on incorporating plenty of core and hip based exercises to help create a strong base for her to work from. Also looking at boxing biomechanics to ensure she is using all the muscles needed as to create maximum force and power.
If u would like to discuss how I can help u whether it be sport specific training, conditioning, injury prevention/rehab then please contact me 0273141929 or [email protected]
