Kiwicamp advance notice.
We will be carrying out some upgrades to the Kiwicash/Penny hardware in the freedom camping ablutions block next week. This means that some facilities such as showers and laundry may be unavailable between Tuesday 9th June and Thursday 11th June.

Heads Up!
Weather gods and Julian permitting, we will be closing the public motorcycle trails on or about 18th May for maintenance.
This closure will remain in place for 6-8 weeks depending on ground conditions.

Well, the inevitable has happened and Tropical Cyclone Vaianu has brought down trees across Weld Road. It looks like it may take us a while to clear them.
For the moment the main entrance is closed and access into TECT Park is likely to be affected until at least mid-week

Happy Friday!
WE are all keeping our fingers crossed that TC Vaianu will pass us by but the forecast isn't great.
We will be closing freedom camping for the weekend and advise everyone to stay home and stay safe this wekend.
At this stage we are not officially closing the whole Park but we would strongly advise not visiting on Sunday when the worst of the weather is due to hit BOP. Apart from the unpredictable nature of forests during storms, the Rangers will be on-call to respond to civil defence emergencies across the district and may not be available to come looking for you.
