"As one door closes, another door opens" has never been more relevant to me in my life. With that said, it is with both sadness and excitement that I have decided to retire from triathlon and pursue my teaching career.
Triathlon has been an enormous part of my life since I began my triathlon journey back in 2008. It has taken me to some incredible places, led me to meet some amazing people and create memories that will stay with me forever. Although it's been a hell of a journey with some pretty extreme lows as well as incredible highs, triathlon has given me so much, and I hope that I also gave a lot to triathlon.
I have so many people in my corner that I need to thank for their time and support that spanned many years, and those who have stuck by me through thick and thin. I have also had the privilege of representing some incredible sponsors who I am very grateful for. Thank you to David Bowden for coaching me to the best form of my life, despite COVID making racing difficult!
Although I won't be competing in triathlon anymore, I will still be doing running races around New Zealand and of course be a loyal member of Run Club Cambridge! I will also still be involved with community triathlon groups, sharing my insight & knowledge with the next generation of triathletes so I won't be a stranger :)
Lastly, thank you to my three biggest supporters: my amazing husband and my wonderful parents. I love you all very much.
I hope you enjoy these collection of memories as much as I do...
