Leaving ✈️ the comforts of 🏠 (Taupo), family 💴 business 🚚 , loved 🥰 ones, to chase a dream as a Whanau, epitomises their devotion + belief in trusting the process or 😮‍💨 making the process happen 💪🏽.

Fitting match up to round out the 🟢⚫️2022 season. Turangi Dambusters Rugby League Club⚪️🔵🔴 travelling from around the lake bringing x2️⃣wins on the trot➕confidence ➕ legion of supporters

With a core group of ⚪️🔵🔴 played 2 seasons under Head coach Jason Kapua ➕ “battle of lake” womens addition adding that State of O vibe to the highly anticipated game

Full complement of players available highlighted the “want”😤
from 🟢⚫️ side, who got stuck in defensively from the opening whistle asserting 🆙 themselves in the contact area. Post game all agreed it was the most physical encounter to date. 🥵

A “tough game made even tougher on ourselves” with a few errors, leaving the door 🚪 open for ⚪️🔵🔴 to capitalise on. Valid to say the least not the complete performance capable of.

The cohesion of fluid play when it clicked👌🏽looked impressive🤩. Off the back of a healthy front row rotation Janie Kaafi winding back the ⏰ really looking like #15 enjoying it out in the middle awesome example of age isn’t barrier. #7 #6 pulling the strings, transition from defensive to attack highlighted by back 3️⃣ working out of own end, ability to play tight when need be and using space out ↔️becoming a ™️of the 2022 season with some long range efforts.

🥇- Jade Wharemate - simply outstanding up for this game 🔥 , built some chemistry with #7 hitting holes, ability to beat a player on the outside + huge mahi on defence fast becoming complete player.

🥈-Wairua Lloyd crafty out of ho**er, good service 💁🏽‍♀️to her runners, takes space if makers aren’t there, body in front of all 🚗 heading her way. Vital link in the Razor spine

🥉 Brown - moved into 2nd row, May have found her niche. Defensively putting in a big shift. Seasons unsung hero. Huge improver.

Character building effort from 🟢⚫️ girls that fronted today, matched by a Mango team who took there chances. 16-16 all final score.

🥇 POD- Tiana Foua - battled in the middle all game, doubling up from KC duty. Enormous effort from our solo prop today!😤 💪🏽.

Big Mihi Turangi Dambusters Rugby League Club for hosting + Kai stalls on offer. The weather ☔️🌨 didn’t hinder the community from coming out to support the occasion. Head coach Jason Kapua highlighting to his group pre match about the rich rugby league history that Turangi possessors and the top level players that have gone on to higher honours over the years. 🙌🏼

The scene was set for rnd 4 of WRL with Taupo turning on a 🏔Stella☀️day.
RBW 🟢⚫️vs Pikiao ⚪️⚫️ both yet to drop game adding some intent to todays match.

The Corresponding game last season saw a spirited ⚪️⚫️ use home ground status to there full advantage getting the W over ⚫️🟢

Wider RBW squad welcoming back some local youth #12 Uleah Foua making her presence felt 💥 early. ⚪️⚫️ up for the task showed why they are yet to lose this season with threats all over the park.

Head coach Jason Kapua set out a game plan which looked to shift the ⚪️⚫️ defence line and when executed it showcased some slick handling by 🟢⚫️ backs who utilised space on the edges.

#7 Boss Kapua 🔙 and restoring order in the middle was able to carry the 💊 to the line dropping willing runners into holes, building pressure, #8 Tiana Foua #10 doing the 🦁 share of hard mahi 🆙 the middle + light on front row subs meant they had to work doubly hard. 😤.

After half time ⚫️🟢 🆙 the anti, going back to fundamentals 🟰 numbers in tackle, line speed, 🆙 the energy ⬆️ running in a total of 8 tries to 2.

POD Henry - A captains knock- kept busy at the back guiding young wingers + defusing numerous kicks + high balls, calm🧊 and composed as ever worthy of this weeks 🥇

Special mention to head coach Jason Kapua who’s uncanny ability to install self belief and confidence in those that come under his 🧐tutorship. Congratulations 🥳 to Debutant Ngatai making her womens rugby league debut and scoring a try ⚫️🟡 🙌🏼.

🟢Razorback🐗Women’s⚫️ pulling through with ✅✅✅ wins on the trot vs Putaruru 20-12.

With vital players Boss Kapua+Tayla Manu Pym sitting this week out. The apprehension was blown out of the group during the warm up from head coach Jason Kapua who rallied his side with some stern words.🗣. “Here to play league 😤”

🟢⚫️ responding accordingly with a opening try to #13 Cameron 🖐🏾 palming off all in her ▶️ to score in the corner. Moments later in the same corner #18 Paiata racing through the line and putting 🥾 ball 3x with ⚽️ like skill Hana Kapua coming to the 🎉 showing a clean pair of 👠 to finish off with a try which started 60m out.

The spine needing to fill the void welcomed 🚪back Ariana Halley fitting in seamlessly, paired in the halves with #6 Jade Wharemate who was busy🐝 as ever both on attack and defence. Crafty #9 Wairua Lloyd guiding the 🚢 from the middle and Captain 👩‍✈️ #1 Awhina Henry at the back safe as houses 🙌🏼 all complementing each other 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧 well in the absence of #7. #8 Tiana Foua tuff and willing providing front foot ball.

Week #3 🤝Player of the day🥇unanimously belonged to 💪🏽 powerhouse #13 Makayla Cameron!! Thunderous ⚡️tackles, equally as aggressive on attack running with vigour & purpose denting the defensive line.
Even more remarkable considering Makayla travels✈️ from Flaxmere, Hawkesbay on game day looking more comfortable and confident game by game post knee surgery 👩🏽‍🦽. Huge shift from Makayla, her whanau of supporters making the trip over treated to outstanding game.

Player welfare 🤕 a priority for head-coach/management it’s reassuring to have outside players make themselves available to fill a team sheet. It shows the spirit within womens rugby league community + administration, especially during these early stages of growth promoting the game ⬆️.

Big 💚🖤 Mihi to those who help us 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧grow the game. 🏉.

Head coach asking for more consistency in maintaining those high energy levels but couldn’t be more proud of his team, most playing out of position, making it a coaches dream when he can ask his girls to play anywhere, especially with new players coming in and key players away.

RBW travelled to Putaruru for Round 2 of the Womens Rugby League Comp.

Making it 2 wins from 2 ✅ games our girls played Rotorua based club Central Pride 🦁, who fielded a strong contingent of Edor ⚫️🟡 ladies with a mixture of youth and experience.

Our core group of players having there 3rd season under astute head coach Jason Kapua managed to get ahead early running in 7 tries to 4 in total, looking sharp in all aspects.

Such is the high standards set and asked of by our head coach, there’s still plenty of work ons with a key emphasis on rest & recovery, home work, game 🎥 review and preparation for next weeks training/game.

#10 🥇 Tayla Manu-Pym picking up Player of the day. Leading the pack with strong carry’s and number of line breaks 😮‍💨.

Big mihi & welcome to our Tūhoe whanau ⚫️🔴 who give us some added numbers and also to the trainers/water technicians 🏔 kept busy running coms and 💦 for coach/girls.
