🥊🦍 WHANGANUI BASH & DASH – WEEKEND WRAP-UP 🦍🥊

What a great evening of boxing at the Whanganui Bash & Dash, run by the well-organised team from the Whanganui Boxing Association. The Taumarunui Silverbacks were ready, travelling down with three of our boxers stepping through the ropes and plenty of positives to take home.

🥊 KAYLENA DALLISON – WIN 🏆
Kaylena came straight out of the blocks with a strong, confident performance, setting the benchmark for the team with a first-round stoppage.
The quality sparring and hard work she has been putting in at the gym showed on the night, giving her the confidence to back herself, execute her boxing and get the job done.
A well-earned win and another step forward for Kaylena. 🔥

🥊 CHARLES RAUKAWA
Charles started the first half of the opening round really well, setting up his shots and connecting with some solid blows to both the body and head.
As the bout progressed, his opponent applied relentless pressure, which caused Charles to lose some of his structure and made it difficult for him to attack and counter the way we know he can. Plenty of learnings to take away from this one. Every bout gives us something to build on, so it’s back to the gym to rectify the work-ons and keep developing.

🥊 JOEL REES – WIN 🏆
Our final boxer of the night, Joel Rees, certainly put on a show!
It was a great back-and-forth battle, with Joel winning the exchanges and landing some powerful shots that sent his opponent to the canvas multiple times.
Most importantly, Joel listened to his corner, stayed focused and executed the game plan. A very well-earned win and a great way to finish the night for Team Silverbacks.

🦍 A massive thank you to our Whanganui boxing whānau for another great night of boxing and for the hospitality shown to our team. A special shout-out and big love to Sandra & Eddie Tofa for always looking after our Silverbacks whānau. We appreciate you both!

🥊 TEAM TSBA | NUKI'S BOXING TOURNAMENT – TAUPŌ 🥊

Another great weekend on the road for Team TSBA as our boxers headed to Taupō to compete at Nuki's Boxing Tournament.

🥇 Izzy was first up and came away with a well-earned win against a tough opponent. It wasn't an easy contest, but she showed plenty of determination, grit, and composure to get the job done. A strong performance and another valuable step forward in her boxing journey.

🥊 Kees stepped into the ring for an exhibition bout against a novice boxer making his debut. With no official result, Kees did exactly what was needed, providing his opponent with quality ring time while continuing to build his own experience. It was a great display of sportsmanship and respect for the sport.

🥊 Seth rounded out the day against a capable opponent. While the result didn't go his way, every bout is a learning opportunity. Seth knows what he needs to work on, and we're confident he will take the lessons from this fight back into the gym and come back stronger.

A huge thank you to Nuki and the Taupō Boxing Club for hosting another well-run tournament and providing valuable opportunities for our athletes to gain experience.

A massive thank you to everyone who makes weekends like this possible, our coaches, officials, volunteers, parents, supporters, and whānau. Your time, commitment, and encouragement behind the scenes are what allow our athletes to keep stepping through the ropes and chasing their goals.

🥊 A BIG WEEKEND FOR TEAM TSBA! 🦍

It was another busy weekend on the road for the team, with seven boxers stepping through the ropes across two tournaments.

Friday Night – Auckland

Our four wāhine represented TSBA with pride, courage and skill.

🥇 Milla came away with a well-deserved victory after another strong performance.

Although Nikah, Kealey and Kay didn’t get their hands raised, we couldn’t be prouder of the way they boxed. All three displayed excellent technical boxing, composure and ring IQ against aggressive, scrappy opponents. Sometimes the judges see things differently, and while we may not always agree with the result, that’s part of the sport. What matters most is that our athletes continue to develop, perform with class, and represent our club with pride.

Saturday – Hamilton (Young Guns #31)

The team backed up the very next day in Hamilton with another three boxers in action.

🏆 Izzy was first into the ring and delivered an outstanding performance to claim the Women’s Belt. She boxed with confidence, skill and determination, executing the game plan from start to finish.

🥊 Keez faced a tough opponent and used the bout to work on key areas of his development. While the result didn’t go his way, every fight is another valuable step forward on his boxing journey.

🏆 Seth closed out the weekend in style, producing a composed and skilful performance to win the Youth Belt. It was another impressive display that highlighted the hard work he’s been putting in behind the scenes.

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for Team TSBA:

Whether you're training for competition, preparing for a corporate fight night, improving fitness, or simply looking for a new challenge, TSBA offers a supportive environment for everyone.
