Kia Ora Koutou it’s been a while but were back ready to get our kiorahi season up and running for 2024/25. The Aotearoa National Kīorahi Tournament is being hosted by Te Upoko o Te Ika and being held at Te Whiti Park, Lower Hutt.

This tournament has expanded the grades
Youth Grades
Under 13s Mixed
Under 16s Mixed
Under 19s Mixed

Adult Grades
Under 21s Mixed
Open Mixed
Masters Mixed (35+)

Dates for the tournament are as follows
Youth Grades - December 12th-13th
Adult Grades - December 14th-15th

Kia Ora Koutou just a reminder of our trials happening this weekend here in turangi. If you’re keen to play or trial please register in the link below. If you can’t make the trial but are still keen to play please register and in the last option write that you can’t attend. Other than that looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday Chur!!

We have trials planned for Saturday 9th December to be selected for Tūwharetoa Kī-o-Rahi
Venue: Turangitukua Park

Times are as follows
Under 16s Mixed - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Under 19s Mixed - 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Open Mixed - 2:00pm - 4:00pm

This will lead to a tournament in Tūrangi with games against Ki o Rahi ki Te Upoko o Te Ika-a-Maui, Kī o Rahi ki Tamaki nui a Rua, and possibly other rohe that may jump onboard too and the proposed tournament dates being Feb 10th-11th.

Mōrena e te whanau, our very own junior Kīorahi teams from Tūwharetoa will be versing eachother @ 9am this morning as they look to keep climbing up the ladder to secure a spot in top 10.

Mauri ora whanau, if anyone is free around 11:15am today we will be having a game against our Kiorahi secondary schools national team Te Kura o Hīrangi & Te kura o Ngapuke before they head off to nationals apopo.

Please if free come down and tautoko our rangatahi as this is a new and young team, any tautoko would be much appreciated.

If you have friends or whanau around who ain’t upto much today send em a message and come down ngā mihi.

If you’re free today whanau come on down and let’s learn how to play kiorahi together, this is a sport we have been trying to push in the community for quite sometime now and finally it is here🔥🙌🏾

Today we will be down @ the town domain setup right next to the town pools & the bowls teaching our kura tuatahi (primary schools) not only how to play but the story behind the game aswell

I know there are a few experienced players around town so if not busy come on down and pass on your knowledge of the game to our rangatahi. Mauri ora💯👆🏾
