We're incredibly proud of our Senior Lifeguard, Finlay, who is currently participating in the LEAD by CLM Programme – a development programme designed to help emerging leaders build the skills, confidence, and experience needed to take the next step in their careers.

Finlay first joined the Richmond Aquatic Centre team while still at high school, and over the years has continually demonstrated a willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. Seeing him embrace this opportunity is a fantastic example of what can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude.

Helping More Local Children Learn a Skill for Life.

Thanks to the ongoing support of NBS, more local children are gaining access to vital swimming and water safety lessons through SwimMagic.

Water safety is one of the most important life skills a child can learn, yet for some families, the cost of lessons can be a barrier. Through this partnership, NBS is helping to remove that barrier, ensuring more children in our community have the opportunity to develop the confidence, resilience, and water safety skills needed to stay safe in and around the water.

With support from NBS, children who may not otherwise have access to structured swimming lessons are being given the chance to learn skills that can benefit them for a lifetime.

In a region where rivers, beaches, and pools play such a big part in our lifestyle, the ability to swim and make safe decisions around water is invaluable. This initiative is helping to create safer, more confident young people while giving families access to opportunities that may not otherwise be possible.

We are incredibly grateful to NBS for investing in our community and supporting a programme that makes a genuine difference in the lives of local children and their whānau.

💙 Making a Difference Through Water Safety 💙

We’ve recently had the absolute privilege of delivering FREE Water Safety lessons to students from Waimea Intermediate School.

Water safety is such an important life skill here in New Zealand, and being able to help educate and build confidence in the water for our rangatahi has been incredibly rewarding.

A huge thank you also goes to some of our amazing CLM team members from Auckland who flew down to help deliver the programme alongside our local staff. What an awesome example of teamwork and passion for keeping Kiwi kids safer around water.

From floating and survival skills through to water confidence and safe decision making, it’s been fantastic seeing the students learn, grow, and have fun along the way.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of programmes like this that help create safer, more confident swimmers in our community.
