What an amazing weekend celebrating 75 years of Wanderers. We'll share more details and photos in due course but we want to thank everyone first!
Events like that really do take an army to pull together.
Firstly to the committee who first met 13 months ago: Lara Scott, Michell du Plessis, Denise Palmer, Jimmy van der Colk, Kyle PakiPaki, Tash Martin, Chelsea Reed, Diane Drogemuller and Tayla Pearless.
Mike Carmody. How good was he? Set the tone on Saturday and had the room laughing all evening.
The Stables Restaurant & Tavern and Ocean Lodge, for providing the food and refreshments.
Pete Taylor, who ran our auction of the jerseys that beat all fundraising expectations!
Our guest speaker, 2 x Gold medalist Eric Murray, who shared stories of his journey.
The Valley Road band, providing tunes into Sunday morning!
Bar staff at Hope Community Church (Glenda, Briony and Jo) and at Wanderers (Emma, Sophie and Ros).
Suzanne Elliston for the lovely cake and fudge.
Tony from Awards and Engraving for putting some massive shifts in to put atoms on bottle openers, get the new bar signage up and prepare our new honours board.
Paul and his team at the Hope Community Church for allowing us to use the facility and being so accommodating.
Everyone that brought in memorabilia like jerseys and photos allowing us to put an amazing display together. A special mention must go to the Max family for bringing in Don Max's 1931 All Blacks jersey, test cap, tie and several photos. Such a privilege to hold these items for the weekend.
Finally to our guests, that included two 94 year old's who played in the original 1951 senior side. Thank you all for making the effort and celebrating the milestone with us.
