CNi Knives NZ Custom knives to fit your hand. Refurbishing old tools a specialty. Will be running knife making courses in the future. I also make sheathes and steels.

Shown are knives I currently have in stock, all for sale, and works in progress. Custom knives and sheathes. Love refurbishing old knives and giving them a new lease of life. Mainly stock removal but getting into forging and Damascus work. I started making nearly twenty years ago with my first knife made to cut our wedding cake. I can make to order or usually have a few in stock which may take your fancy. We will be offering knife making weekends in the future, which will include accommodation and meals. Should be a ton of fun. We are in the old BNZ bank building in Tapanui.

These are not perfect but they are very good! The steel is 14C28, a steel I like to use. These are for a local for himself and his sons. Each blade and handle is different but follows a theme. The handle material is swamp wood found on his farm and was carbon dated at 5400 years old. Amazingly tight grain and very hard! Many firsts for me in making these! And sharp!

These three are my latest, all available now. The top is 14C28 steel with purple heart handle. The middle is Damascus with Mulga handle, and the bottom is Damascus with Pohutukawa I was given nearly 20 years ago.

Had to reshape the tip on this one after the owner snapped it.... no cost. Part of the service. The grain looked great!
