Our lease at Tamahere will soon come to an end. Friday 13 March will be the last day that our bricks and mortar shop will be open for walk-ins. We have loved our sunny little corner, being part of a community filled with amazing people, and servicing the wider Waikato.

Over the last 4.5 years, the cost of leasing our Tamahere premises has increased by 38.8%. That is hugely significant for a small niche business. It means that it's not viable to remain here, and Alpha Sports is having to pivot around how we do things.

Over the next few months, Alpha Sports will function as a mobile and online shop. We'll be setting up pitchside at lacrosse match venues.

All remaining cricket, hockey and football stock will be available online at discounted prices.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, and been part of our journey in the Tamahere community.

Easter is tournament time for us. With staff having to travel outside of Waikato, we have to close doors for a few days. Not to worry though! We'll be open in time for you to pop in and see us before the school holidays end.

And that's a wrap for primary schools Lightning Lacrosse in 2024. It was great to see 18 teams take part in the 6-week league this term. Thank you to all the players, parents, teachers, and the team behind the scenes that make this happen every year.

It was great to see a couple of OG players, now in high school, come back and referee. Thank you, Andrew, Olivia, and Mike, for being on the whistle and helping encourage players along the way.
