Thanks to everyone who came to the Christmas party - good tennis, yummy food and a chance to have a catch-up.

We presented club champions with their cups and announced the Tennis Nut of the Year prize, this year jointly awarded to a couple of our most long-serving and committed club members. David has been a member of the club for 59 years, and is still going strong, battling away in the heat on Saturday afternoon interclub matches. Ravi has been a member for 25 years, was runner-up in the doubles at the 75+ nationals this year and was named as a non-travelling reserve in the 75+ New Zealand tennis team that went to Croatia. Impressive, both of you!

Christmas Party: Please join us for our end-of-year adults Christmas party on Thursday 11 December. The Thursday social night tennis starts at 7pm ($15 for non-members), then from 8.30pm we will have a chance to socialise with Christmas drinks and food - hot ham, salads, rolls and a few festive treats. Partners welcome, $10 per head to cover catering costs. There will also be a quick prizegiving to celebrate our winners from earlier in the year.

A great Christmas gift: We are almost half-way through the season now, so membership fees have been reduced on a pro-rata basis. If you know anyone who is keen to give tennis a go for the rest of the season, tell them to join up now. Adult membership is only $325 for the rest of the season (for new members only).

Kids' Saturday morning coaching starts this weekend (October 11). Invite any friends to come along for a free trial this Saturday. Times for different age groups:
8.30am to 9.15am: 5-7 year olds
9.15am to 10am: 8-10 year olds
10am to 10.45am: 11-17 year olds.
