🏐💙 KURANGAITUKU TOURNAMENT | ROTORUA 💙🏐

Well… what a weekend! 😂🏐

Our girls headed up to Rotorua for the Kurangaituku Netball Tournament, ready for a weekend of netball, laughs, questionable weather and probably a few sore legs by the end of it! 😂💪

🌦️ DAY ONE

A little morning drizzle tried to put a dampener on things, but luckily it cleared just in time for the girls to hit the courts! 🙌

Both teams got stuck in, battled hard and showed plenty of heart throughout the day. Some great netball was played, some lessons were learnt, and no doubt a few “interesting” calls were made along the way… 😂👀

💙 A1 GIRLS

The A1s had a real mixed bag of games — some cracking performances, some tough ones that tested them, and plenty of moments where they had to dig deep and keep fighting.

But they saved the best attitude for last, finishing up with a fun and friendly game to wrap up their tournament. Plenty of smiles, laughs and just enjoying being out there together. 🥰🏐

Because sometimes the scoreboard doesn’t matter… especially when you’re tired and just want to have a good time! 😂

💙 A2 GIRLS

The A2s had a tough weekend, facing some hard games and having to make do with the players they had available. Talk about making it work! 💪😂

The girls dug deep, backed each other and kept pushing despite the challenges. And just when they needed it most…

THEY FINISHED WITH A WIN! 🎉🙌🏐

Nothing like saving the best for last! What a way to finish the weekend on a high. 💙

🌧️ DAY TWO

Then came the rain… because apparently Rotorua wanted to make sure we really earned it! 😂🌧️

But did the girls let it stop them?

ABSOLUTELY NOT! 💪

Wet hair, wet bibs, wet balls and probably wet everything else 😂 — but they toughed it out and played right through to the end.

A massive WELL DONE to all our girls! 💙 You showed plenty of grit, determination, team spirit and, most importantly, you had fun along the way.

Huge thanks to our coaches, managers, supporters and especially Tracey Perkins who made the weekend possible. 👏💙

🩷💙 A1 PREMIER FINAL 💙🩷

It wasn’t the result we wanted last night, but there is still so much to be proud of with this group.

Last night was our first ever Premier final in Whanganui, and only our second season playing up there. To go from starting out to making a Premier final in just two seasons is a bloody good achievement in itself. 👏🏼

These ladies have put in a massive amount of work this season — training hard every week, then travelling to Whanganui every Monday for games. That’s a huge commitment, especially with work, kids, partners and everything else that life throws at you.

A massive thank you to all of our supporters who have been there along the way, and especially to the partners who come along to games, or stay home and hold the fort with the kids so the girls can do what they love. 🫶🏼

And to our coaches and managers — thank you! We genuinely appreciate everything you put into this team. We know we’re not always the easiest team to coach 😂 Sometimes we have absolutely no ears, selective hearing is definitely a thing, and apparently knowing when to listen is still a work in progress. 😂 But you continue to back us, challenge us, put up with us and get us through another season.

To our A1 girls — be proud. The result didn’t go our way, but getting ourselves onto that court for a Premier final was something pretty special.

Two seasons. One Premier final. And plenty more to come. 🩷💙

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey. We couldn’t do it without you.
