Smallbore rifle shooting is a sport where you can have fun, be competitive and learn about the safe handling of fi****ms.

You can be as competitive as you like; or just come along socially. Men and women compete on equal terms

Age: We have members of school age right through to those well past retirement age. Safety: All new members are given a good grounding in fi****ms safety and the safe handling of rifles. All shooting is supervised by range officers. Coaching: New members are allocated a coach, generally a senior member of the club. Coaching is available at all levels for those that want/need it. Costs: Subscriptions are about $280 per year for adults. Nightly fees are $10

Equipment: The rifles used are .22 calibre single shot target rifles. Sporting rifles using magazines are not permitted. All clubs have rifles, jackets and other equipment for use by members who do not have their own. March-December on a Tuesday evening. However there is a monthly Sunday coaching/have a go day that you are welcome to come along to. Feel free to browse our website. www.wsbrc.info

Bit more progress made with top mound completely re built and all wood cut for bottom mound once rubber removed. Easier to just have mdf and plywood dust while working instead of also mixing some lead dust in. Thanks to Ken and Bruce for this, just need refilling now with rubber chip.
Next working bee is Monday 6th January, 9am until midday.

We have had a lot of new and potential members pass through the club, we need new people coming into the club and to make them welcome,
Huge thanks to everyone in the club, we all help out as required but a few need a mention
Lawrence for being Secretary/Treasurer, has held the position for 10+ years and keeps us all well informed. He has also undertaken to write the Waitakere Club History, many hours spent going through old minute books to record this valuable history.
Ian and Matt for looking after and advising new members and the odd older one, keeping all on track and moving forward.
Johan for keeping the scores and picking teams.
Ken for RO duties
John for looking after the club rifles, clubrooms and dealing with all issues thrown at him.
Chris for looking after the clubrooms and tea making.
Mark for opening up and auditing the accounts
Michelle for mowing services

The Club is now accredited by the NZ Police.

The club has a few members attending the NRA Fullbore Nationals in Trentham, Lee, Chris, Bruce, Johan and Leon, good shooting and safe travels to them.
Good luck and shooting for the season, travel safely if attending championships around the country
