Good turnout for a Sunday morning, 9 members, Daryl wrote out a list of the work so we new what needed doing.
Bruce and Ken repaired the butts, helped by Fred.
Bruce and Ken organised themselves to repair the safe door opening, has been getting harder to lock so major surgery required.
Ian was first there and he set about cleaning the window bays, the kitchen, and draws and everything else there. Made the morning `smoko' then cleaned up afterwards.
Riely came along prepared to remove the old rifle cases and everything else above the marking room and kitchen. He got himself into white overalls and breathing mask, that he wears at his work.
He bought along a big industrial vacuum cleaner and was very efficient. First he handed down the old rifle cases to Lawrence and Daryl then the batts that have been up there providing the rats somewhere to live.
He then went to work and cleaned the whole area of rat crap and anything else that was up there. Things went well until he bumped his head on the roof then pushed his boot through the ceiling.
Daryl, Charlie and Lawrence loaded Daryl's `truck' with the cases and batts, then to be taken to the tip.
Daryl cleaned up all the brass off the floor and then Charlie vacuumed the floor of all the bullet dust. Then they removed all the mats off the mound and vacuumed the area.
Fred advised me that he hoped he would be there and would bring his tools. After helping with the butts he got all his tools from his vehicle and was working on the base of the decking. It was a bit heavy...the rain and Fred just carried on.
Chris came in at 10 past 10. He said there is a good turn out and he wondered if he was going to stay. Well he did and cleaned out the toilets and restocked them with loo paper.
Then vacuumed the floor to get rid of all the surplus rat crap.
