Mongol Rally X has hit New Zealand!

Due to Covid-19 canceling this year's Mongol Rally, we have shown our support for epic road trips by doing some local advertising.
The founders of the Mongol Rally (The Adventurists) decided to get some sort of non-formal Mongol Rally event happening across the world for the month of August. If you are interested in what epic places across the world people get to this month, follow on Facebook or Instagram 😊

BuzzyKa has taken part by managing to drive up to the top of Whariti on the Ruahine Ranges. Superb view and managed to get some Drone shots as the wind wasn't too bad (even though the big fans on the hill in the background were pointing in our direction!).
A few rattles and shakes, but BuzzyKa still has it sorted!

Get out there and enjoy our backyard, we all have some fantastic places to go and see!

Stay safe πŸ˜‰

This weekend BuzzyKa got the honors to pose in front of TET Kings Theatre in Stratford NZ, as a real life model of what a Mongol Rally car looks like in the flesh. This event was a charity event hosted by another Mongol Rally team "The Dusty Kiwis" who managed to go through the tremendous effort of creating a documentary of their journey from start to finish. The charity was to support the Mental Health Foundation.
The night was very successful as it seemed like half of Stratford was there with a bit over 200 people turning up!
Great work guys! Was a good kiwi doco 😊

Since I was up that way, I couldn't help myself and took a quick photo op at Ohawe beach on the top of the cliff to look out at the Tasman Sea.

I buzzed up over 400km without a problem!Go me! πŸ˜‰

According to Facebook memories, it was 2 years ago today that we put our top of the line custom made roof rack onto BuzzyKa.
As weird as it is without realising, 2 years to the day BuzzyKa got a new wooden pallet roof rack installed to look like his former glory! 😍

Big thanks to the team at AutoShippers, their friendly and knowledgeable team made shipping Buzzy KA home super simple!

This humble little Ford KA aptly named Buzzy, has set on a mission to raise money for charity and ride 'ten thousand miles for smiles', participating in the Mogol rally and other events along the way.

Buzzed about around the Waikato recently and found a couple of cool things!
In Otorohanga I found some Kiwiana and I found ME among them!!!! So proud :D

But also.... I wandered upon an interesting Church called Tree Church just out of Ohaupo! Lovely little church and gardens that many locals don't even know about. So pack your picnic basket and have yourself a fun little picnic! Check out it's website for more information :)

Some things in life are just that, things. Then sometimes in life, you stumble across a certain something that comes to mean more to you than most. You come across something which helps to change the way you see the world. Buzzy KA to us, has become much more than a car, much more than just a β€œthing”.

At the end of the Mongol rally, Alex was angry and David felt something just wasn’t quite right when they left Buzzy KA to face the Russian death train alone. They had travelled over 20,000kms together and the boys felt they were turning their back on a mate. Soon after, arrangements were made, and Buzzy KA escaped a horrid fate and made his way back to Blighty where he would spend nearly a year convalescing in the English countryside.

Until today.

Today Buzzy KA received two new front wheels and a brand new battery. Once installed, he fired into life instantly, ready to head out on a new adventure. His pallet roof rack, sodden with mould and spiders, was removed to appease the shipping company and increase our chances of Buzzy KA being granted Kiwi residence. Following a thorough clean, he was ready to depart for the ship which will bring him to New Zealand.

Buzzy KA will be used at car shows and events to tell people our story. We want to show people that their dreams can come true. We want to show people that travel really is the spice of life. But most of all we want people to know that no matter what, it is important to stand by and support the ones you love ❀️
