Tawera Reserve Various family-friendly areas will be created including a BBQ and picnic area.

Located in the Springfield Township, together with native planting, plans include a walk track with fitness circuit with a bike track, pump track and skills zone in the centre.

🎅 MERRY CHRISTMAS SPRINGFIELD 🤶

Just in time for Christmas, the Bike Flow Track is now complete...

The loop can be ridden both ways, is enjoyed by all kids (young and not so old...and old!), the faster you the go the more fun it creates! We will have an Open Day at some stage in the next few weeks, in the meantime, get in there, ride some berms, do some skids...most of all, have some fun!

Note, Tawera Reserve is for NON-MOTORISED bikes ONLY - please do not ride trail bikes in the Reserve. The surface will not cope with this.

Thank you to Scott from T5 Contracting for an awesome job and Rob from Curle Contracting Ltd for supplying and transporting the surface material.

This is an asset that the Community can be very proud of...watch this space for future developments.

Big thanks to everyone who helped out this morning at Tawera Reserve. The mulch has been thinned out giving the plants a new lease on life (you can actually see them now!) and mulch has been redistributed around 4 of the fitness stations. The space looks fantastic...

We're having a working bee tomorrow morning from 9.30am down at Tawera Reserve. We'll be moving some of the mulch in one of the planted areas to around a few of the fitness stations.

The fitness stations are now complete! The softfall material (woodchips) has been installed to the two stations which required them and the safety barriers have been removed. There are 6 stations situated on the North and East sides of the Reserve.

The Selwyn District Council will now be undertaking the mowing and spraying in Tawera Reserve. This will be done on an as-necessary timeframe and will commence soon.

Tawera Reserve is open...again! The fitness stations are almost all complete. There are still two which require soft-fall material and are fenced off. Please respect these closed-off areas. The other fitness stations are ready to be used.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in getting the Reserve to where it is today, we're looking forward to working with you on the next stages in the New Year.

Update on Fitness Stations:
The construction of the Stations is complete and we are now just waiting on the delivery of soft-fall material for two of them. This will be happening next week. Following that, the Council needs to do the final sign-off and the Reserve will be open again and the Stations will be in full use.

Thank you for your patience whilst we work on completing this current stage...we are already working on the next one!

The next stage at Tawera Reserve is nearing completion. For the next 2 days, Playco is constructing the fitness stations. Please adhere to the signage and do not open the gates or enter the Reserve during this time.

Once construction is complete, a couple of the stations will be taped off until "soft-fall" material is added by the Council.

All going well, everything will be open and ready to use late next week.

Plants, plants and more plants!

We have a few more plants to get in the ground and, all going well (weather permitting), we'll be at the Tawera Reserve from 3.30pm tomorrow afternoon (Thursday). Come along anytime between 3.30pm and 6.30pm, if you're able to help.

Holes have already been dug, just need a few wheelbarrows, shovels, energy and banter to get these last few plants in the ground.
