Stoked to see the ticket sales for both nights of the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival going so well...thought we'd better let you know what the films are for the second night!!!

Friday 14th August is the AWARD NIGHT - films that stood-out and won the "Best of..." at the Festival in Wanaka...

BEST SHORT FILM
MIA | 6minutes | Marco Noe | Australia
Ten-year-old Mia is determined to land her biggest skating trick yet - again! For Mia, practice isn't just routine; it's progress in motion.

BEST ADVENTUROUS SPORTS AND LIFESTYLES FILM
MOUNTAIN OF MYSTERY | 34minutes | Jake Hopfinger, Justin Fann, Eric Parker | USA
Deep in British Columbia's most remote landscape, a group of friends ski, kayak and surf their way through wild country. More than an extreme sports film, this is a story about shared challenge, laughter and the kind of unforgettable moments that only happen far from the beaten path.

BEST SNOW SPORTS FILM
HUNTER'S MOON | 15minutes | Christina Lusti, Gee Pierrel | USA
Mountaineers, Christina Lusti and Gee Pierrel, are the first to ski an extremely steep line on the East Face of Aoraki.

GRAND PRIZE FILM
K2 - CHASING SHADOWS | 67minutes | David Arnaud, Hugo Clouzeau | USA (subtitles)
A record-breaking alpinist attempts a fast, oxygen-free ascent of K2 - one of the world's deadliest peaks - in a quest that pushes far beyond physical limits into deeply personal territory.

Good Morning All
There has been a query with regards to the legitimacy of the tickets for the New Zealand Mountain Film Festival and how we are selling them. The tickets are being sold on a private website (Kawaii Kiwi), which is one of our Committee Member's websites local to Springfield. We made a conscious decision to not go with one of the "other" ticket selling websites following feedback from a previous event when we used one.

You can be assured that ALL ticket sales through the link in the comments here are legitimate. Every person who purchases will receive an email confirming the number of tickets purchased and for which sessions.

Please feel free to direct any enquiries in this regard to the Springfield Community Association.

Thanks everyone...ticket sales have been going really well and we are excited for this event in our Village!
