My why behind face massage, in one word: health.
Supporting others to feel their best has always been my driver – for both Pilates and face massage. But behind face massage sits a deeper why.
At 40, I went into surgical menopause after having both ovaries removed due to another cancer scare. I instantly noticed things shifting in my body and my face, and I wanted to respond in a way that felt proactive, natural, and genuinely good for me. Not to fight it or mask it – but to support it.
I started practising face massage on myself, then received one from another practitioner and loved it. It felt like a holistic way of caring for my face and my health – not just how I look, but how I feel.
What the body holds, the face reveals. And what we release in the face, the body feels too. That's when I knew I wanted to train in it and offer it to others.
When I give a face massage, I feel genuinely honoured to work with people in such an intimate way. I notice the shift from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. Something softens. They look relaxed, refreshed, serene. Happy.
This work is life-giving – for the person receiving it, and for me too.
I'd love to take care of you. Bookings are open via my website: themovementroom.co.nz 🌿
