Wow… where do I even start? 🙈

The last week has been full of new information, bedding it all in, repeating old information and lots and lots of hands-on learning.

My brain, heart and cup are definitely full at the moment. ❤️

We had long days of learning, testing and repeating, with excellent teachers and guidance. We braved the heat and started early each day so we could hopefully finish a little earlier… which only really worked on the last day 😂 The other days were just too packed with learning!

There’s a lot to process now and plenty to study, but most importantly, lots to put into practice when I get home.

The next 3 weeks will be a bit of a “study-holiday” — a few hours each day going through theory, continuing my beautiful drawings 🙈😂 and making sure everything stays in my brain.

Then it’s back to school again in September for a week of Visceral Part 2, focusing on the equine urinary and reproductive systems.

For now though, I’m looking forward to some relaxing days with family and friends… and maybe even 3 nights in a wellness hotel with Mum 😉❤️

I’ll also be organising my October appointments over the next few days. ☺️ Availability is very limited now with exams coming up in November and heaps of studying still to be done.

I’m loving the journey I’m on. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to say that I’ve found my calling and that I get to build my life around something I’m truly passionate about, surrounded by horses and people who share that love.

I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me. ❤️

And I’m so grateful for all the amazing horses, animals and people who support me along the way, and for all the wonderful connections and friendships this journey has brought into my life. ❤️

✈️ And off we go again… 🇩🇪

Hard to believe I’m back at the airport and on my way to Germany again.

First up, I’ll have a few days with my family to recharge before it’s back into school mode. 🥳📚

This trip starts with Module 9, where we’ll be focusing on the thoracic and lumbar spine. After that, I’ll have three weeks with family and friends, and hopefully a chance to explore a few new places in Europe as well. 🤞☀️

Then it’s back to school for Module 7 – Visceral Part 2, before heading home to New Zealand.

The five weeks I’ll be back in NZ are almost fully booked. With another round of exams in November, I’ll also be making sure I leave plenty of time for study before heading back to Germany one last time this year.

There are also a few exciting things happening behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to share them with you all when I’m back in NZ in September. 😊

The next seven weeks will be all about learning, catching up with family and friends, and hopefully enjoying a little bit of European summer as well. ☀️

None of this would be possible without the amazing support from my clients, family and friends. Thank you all so much—it really does mean the world to me. ❤️

How often do you check your gear? 👀

❄️ Winter is actually a great time to go through all your horse gear and make sure everything is ready for the next season.

It’s so easy to get busy and forget about the little things… until something breaks or becomes a much bigger problem.

✅ Take some time to check:
• Bridle, reins and stitching
• Billet straps and girth straps
• Leather for cracks or wear (and give it a good clean and oil)
• Your horse float from top to bottom
• Tyres, brakes and lights
• Your helmet – how old is it? Has it had a knock? It might be time for a replacement.

I recently pulled the rubber mats out of my float and found the timber underneath needed some attention. Thankfully I checked it before it became a much bigger (and more expensive!) job.

💡 It was a good reminder that just because something looks fine from the outside doesn’t mean it is.

A little bit of maintenance now can save a lot of money, prevent unnecessary headaches, and most importantly, help keep both us and our horses safe. ❤️🐴

Wow… hard to believe that in just three weeks I’ll be on my way back to Germany again. 🇩🇪✈️

After having to cut my southern trip short because of the weather, I’ve spent the last few days with my head buried in books, notes and my computer. I even had a sneak peek at the next couple of modules, and now I really can’t wait to get back over there and keep learning.

The next three weeks are almost fully booked, but I do still have a couple of appointments available:

When I return in September, my first week is already starting to fill up. I’ll only be back in New Zealand for five weeks before another “quick” three-week trip to Germany for the last module for 2026. 😉

Every trip over there adds another piece to the puzzle, and I love bringing that knowledge home to the horses I treat. I can’t wait to see what these next modules have in store.

Well… Mother Nature had other plans this week. ❄️🌨️

Unfortunately I had to shuffle my plans around a little. The weather meant I couldn’t keep heading south as planned, so I’ve been hanging out in Fairlie for a couple of extra days waiting for the roads and conditions to improve.

As much as I hate changing plans, icy roads and winter weather just aren’t worth the risk. Sometimes Mother Nature has the final say. ❄️

The upside? Jimmy was pretty happy to have his girlfriend Zoe join us for the day. ❤️🐶😂

On a happier note… today in a month’s time I’ll be wrangling the big bird again and heading back to Germany for my second trip of the year. 🇩🇪✈️

This time I’ll be doing two modules:
🐴 Module 9 – Thoracic & Lumbar Spine – anatomy and biomechanics.
🐴 Module 7 – Visceral Part 2 – kidneys, ureters, bladder, ovaries, ductus deferens, prostate, anamnesis and communication.

I’ll be back home for a few weeks before heading over one last time in November to study the diaphragm, ribs, respiratory system and salt-water balance.

By the time I finish that trip, I’ll be three quarters of the way through my studies. Looking back, deciding to take on this course was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s challenged me, pushed me out of my comfort zone and completely changed the way I assess and understand the horse’s body.

I honestly can’t wait to get back into the classroom… even if I come home every time with a sore head from information overload! 😂🇩🇪

🐴 How amazing is this video?!

A client recently took this video while I was working through the horse’s lumbar and sacrum area.

Have a look at the pectoralis muscle… 👀
I just love seeing little moments like this. It’s such a cool reminder that everything in the body is connected and works together.

Tension or restrictions in one area can influence another, and vice versa.

That’s one of the reasons I always assess the whole horse rather than focusing on just one area. The body doesn’t work in isolated pieces—it works as one interconnected system.

✈️ I can’t wait to head back to Germany in a few weeks to continue my equine osteopathy studies. The more I learn, the more fascinated I become by the incredible way the equine body works 🇩🇪

I’m absolutely loving this journey… and I genuinely love what I do 💕

I’m planning my next trip south for the last week of June and beginning of July, travelling through:
- North Canterbury
- Geraldine
- Fairlie
- Tekapo
- Twizel
- Cromwell
- Alexandra
- Ranfurly
- Dunedin & Balclutha
- Oamaru
- Timaru & Temuka.

This will be my last south trip until December, as the next few months will be focused on my study trips back to Germany through the Vluggen Institute 🐴📚

For those wanting to book in, feel free to flick me a message sooner rather than later, as spots are already starting to fill.

Please let me know if there are certain days or times that absolutely don’t work for you — but also keep in mind I’m travelling long distances and trying to group areas together where possible. With the current fuel prices, flexibility really helps me keep travel costs reasonable for everyone 😊

Safe shelter or cover is also always hugely appreciated this time of year, so we don’t get too held up with winter weather conditions.

Looking forward to getting back on the road, seeing everyone again, and treating some horses in some pretty stunning parts of the country ❤️
