🚧 Deep Pool Closure Notice 🚧

Please note that the Deep Pool will be closed for the Marine Bots Competition:

📅 Friday 11 September | 8:00am - 3:00pm
📅Saturday 12 September | 8:00am - 4:00pm

🏊‍♀️ The Outdoor Pool will remain available during these times for lane swimming, aqua jogging, and recreational swimming.

❌ Friday morning Aqua class will not be on

🤖 Marine bots is an underwater robotics competition where students build and operate remotely operated vehicles to complete a range of in-water challenges 💦

🏊‍♂️ Huge congratulations to Glyn on an absolutely incredible achievement!
Your determination and perseverance are truly inspiring, and we're proud to have you as part of our aquatic community. 👏🌟💙💛❤️

Many months of training, over 10K daily pool sessions followed by open water swimming in the lake without the comfort of a wetsuit (in the winter!!) aswell as numerous sea swimming at MtM.

Lots of mental prep, travel to the other side of the globe and than..... the waiting game, waiting for the weather to settle, a gap that might not happen, cabin fever and the hope all that work was not wasted!!

It paid off!! Sus Glyn did the English channel crossing in just over 10 hours, what an achievement! A few years after doing the Cook Straight swim he has now added the English channel to the list! Well done, proud moments.

A huge congratulations to Flynn, our August Swim Magic swimmer of the Month! 🌟

Flynn has made incredible progress in the pool, showing improved confidence, technique, and a great attitude towards learning. We are so proud of how far he has come and can't wait to see what he achieves next! 🏊‍♂️👏💙

A special shout out to instructor Braxton, who has supported Flynn on his swimming journey.

🤿💦 The National Secondary School Underwater Hockey Tournament is wrapping up after an incredible 4 days of action here at Rotorua Aquatic Centre!

🏆 Senior Girls: Wellington vs Mahurangi

A special mention to Tauranga Boys, who are currently playing off for 3rd and 4th place. These dedicated athletes make the journey to our facility regularly to train, and we're proud to see them performing so well on the national stage.

It's been awesome to see the incredible support around the pools all week, with teammates, coaches, families, and supporters creating an amazing atmosphere for all involved.

A huge thank you to Underwater Hockey New Zealand Inc for organising and delivering such a successful event.

🏊‍♂️ Para Swimming Clinic Coming to Rotorua! 🏊‍♀️

We're excited to hold the first Para Swimming Clinic at the Rotorua Aquatic Centre on Sunday 13th September.

This fantastic opportunity is designed to support and develop para swimmers, with guidance from an experienced coaching team including Mia Parker, Mark Turner, Henk Greupink, Annabelle Davey, and Adriaan Greupink.

🌸💦 WHAT A SPRING POOL PARTY! 💦🌸

Sunday was full of fun, laughter, and plenty of splashing!
We had an amazing turnout and loved seeing everyone enjoying the water inflatables, Tarzan Swing, mini trampoline, and scavenger hunt! 🥳

🌱🌼 But the BIG highlight? Our planting activity! 🪴✨

The kids got to design their very own paper cup, then choose a flower or vegetable to plant and take home with them! 🌻🥕
It was so awesome seeing their creativity come to life — and now they have a little plant to look after and watch grow! 💚

We captured some awesome moments from the day — and those smiles say it all! 📸😍
But the fun doesn't stop there… 👀

💦🤿 Underwater Hockey Tournament This Week! 💦

Our Underwater Hockey Tournament kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 3 September at 12:00pm and runs through to Sunday 7 September at 1:30pm in the deep pool.

To help accommodate all our customers during the tournament, our 50m pool will be divided into two 25m pools, providing additional space for lap swimmers, aqua joggers, and recreational swimmers.

Please note:
🔹 Friday Aqua Class will not be running.
🔹 Saturday morning Aqua Class will go ahead as usual.
🔹 SwimMagic lessons will continue, with some classes that are normally held in the deep pool being moved to either the learner pool or outdoor pool.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this exciting event is underway.
