NZJRDA TRAINING WEEKEND 🛼🇳🇿

Are you wanting to grow your roller derby skills?
Thinking about trialling for Team New Zealand Juniors in the future?

We’ve got an upcoming NZJRDA Training Weekend open to level 2 and 3 junior skaters who are keen to develop, challenge themselves, and skate alongside others from around Aotearoa.

This weekend is for:
✨ Skaters wanting to level up their gameplay and skills
✨ Those interested in the Team NZ Juniors pathway
✨ Anyone considering trialling for future squads
✨ Juniors who just want more high-quality training time

You do not need to be trialling to attend, this is a development weekend for all eligible juniors.

Expect:
• Skills sessions
• Learning from a range of coaches - Australian League Coach and NZ Junior Coaches.
• Supportive, fun environment
• A chance to see where you’re at and what to work on next
• A chance to potentially play a game against an Australian Junior League Team

NZMRD are raising funds to help the Kiwi Toa team get to Orléans, France for the 2026 Men’s Roller Derby World Cup.

Here’s how it works. Tickets are $20 each. The winner takes home HALF the total funds raised in this raffle.

“Am I too old for roller derby?!” We often get asked this when we are recruiting new skaters and people are worried they’re too old and haven’t skated in 30+ years (or ever before!). Our answer? - You’re never too old!!

The crew at BCR 🩷🖤💀 thought we’d put ourselves out there and share our ages to give you a bit of confidence that no matter how old you are, there’s a space for you in roller derby! 🫶

Our BCR adult league is over 18, with no upper limit, and we are recruiting new skaters now - check out the link below for our new skater group with all the details! 🛼🛼⬇️

You will be gently introduced to the sport starting with learning to skate, and we will ensure your ability to skate is sound before you begin any physical contact with other skaters.
