🌿💧 Stage 2 of the Kaikaitahuna Restoration Project, Hamurana Springs - Clearing section by section 🌿✨

A huge thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in, clearing the upper reaches of the awa, as we continue working our way downstream.

15 hessian bags of de-crittered invasive weed removed, heaps of trees, branches, stumps and some hidden treasures, every metre cleared, and every hour contributed brings us closer to a healthier waterway for wildlife and future generations 🙌

But .. we still have plenty of work ahead of us, with the next dedicated Club dive/working bee scheduled here for Sunday, September 27th - Save the date!

A special thank you to Ngāti Rangiwewehi for the warm manaakitanga throughout the day. After a hard day’s mahi, we were treated to a delicious hāngī and steamed pudding! the perfect way to finish an incredible day giving back to the awa 😋🤿💪🏽

💧One of the highlights of our week is spending time with our Scuba Explorers from 🤿

These tamariki jumped in with enthusiasm, built their water confidence, learned new scuba skills, and how to operate it safely and we had a whole lot of fun along the way 🙌

It’s always inspiring to see the curiosity, courage, and teamwork these young explorers bring to every session. Watching them challenge themselves and grow in confidence around the water is what it’s all about 💪🏽

A huge mihi to the students, whānau, and teachers who support this programme and help create opportunities for our rangatahi to connect with the underwater world.
We are already looking forward to next term ✨

✨Last week we had the privilege of attending the Health vision showcasing our SSI Classified Diver Programme – making the underwater world accessible to people with mobility and/or sensory impairments✨

We met some truly inspiring athletes, heard incredible stories, and shared a fantastic day connecting with the community 🤿♿️

The best part… We’re planning to run pool based Classified Diver experiences next month, giving more people the opportunity to discover the freedom and adventure of scuba diving💧

That's our Chloe💧🤿

For the past five months, Chloe has been completing her work experience placement with us, and she has been an absolute joy to mentor. Always smiling, always positive, and always keen to learn, her passion for diving and the marine environment shines through in everything she does.

We're incredibly proud of the effort she's put in and grateful to have her as part of the Aotearoa Dive whānau. Keep smashing it, Chloe! 🌿✨💦

We’re heading back to Hamurana Springs for a Working bee Club Dive, to continue the mahi we started 🌿

This is a special place, and we’re committed to seeing the Kaikaitahuna Restoration Project through by removing invasive pest weeds and helping restore the health and beauty of the spring💧

Our plan is to tackle the spring section by section. This Sunday, we’ll begin at the top of the spring, and every three months we’ll return to continue onto the next section until the job is done ✅

We welcome SCUBA divers, Freedivers and land volunteers 🤿
We’d love to have you involved.

As a thank you for your hard mahi Ngati Rangiwewehi Iwi will be serving up a delicious hāngī for lunch 😋

Today we celebrate strength, courage, resilience, and the power of our next generation 💪🏽 💦

Our rangatahi from with the support of the amazing certified as SSI open water divers 🙌 🤿

Watching these young leaders step outside their comfort zones, uplift one another, and carry themselves with commitment, discipline, and heart has been inspiring beyond words.
Despite all the hard mahi put in, there were still plenty of laughs, memories, and good times shared along the way - and it was our absolute privilege to guide them through this journey together ✨
