🤼‍♂️ Wrestling Camp 🤼‍♀️

We had Graeme Hawkins visit the Selwyn Wrestling NZ crew today at SCSC. To run a training camp before the Canterbury Champs next weekend.

Graeme is the NZ national Wrestling Coach and Olympian number 445. Attending the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane 1982 and the Summer Olympics in LA in 1984.

A huge well done to all our SCSC / AxisRolly gals who stepped up and competed today! Emma, Aynslie and Meredith as oue blue belt crew, and Lucie and Sonja as our white belt squad.

There were some epic matches and outstanding performances! Super fun to see our women's team growing and improving ❤️

What happens when the presenters of What Now? visit Selwyn Wrestling? 🤼‍♂️

They get taught by some of our youngest wrestlers!

Recently, we had the awesome opportunity to welcome the What Now? team to our club, where our Selwyn Wrestling kids stepped into the role of coaches and introduced them to the world of wrestling.

From learning the basics, trying out some wrestling moves, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way, it was an amazing experience for everyone involved.

We’re incredibly proud of our young wrestlers who represented Selwyn Wrestling with confidence, respect and enthusiasm. They showed exactly what our sport is about — teamwork, discipline, courage and having a go.

A huge thank you to the What Now? team for visiting us and helping showcase wrestling to more Kiwi kids and families.

Member of the month for July goes to George from our wrestling team Selwyn Wrestling NZ . Congrats mate free week headed your way!

Our wrestling team is gearing up for National Champs next month where they are looking to bring back the Club Championship to Selwyn!!!

Come down and train Mondays and Thursday evenings see what wrestling is all about.

This day 2 years ago our 2nd mat space was put down. After battling it out on puzzle mats for a while due to delays.

Crazy to think its only been a couple of years since we moved from a small BJJ team to a full Combat Sport training centre powerhouse.

Thank you to everyone who coaches, trains and supports us. Without you all, this wouldn't be possible.

So next year. We gonna be doing this all over again. 😂😅

Thanks to all our coaches and helpers who turn up every day to deliver a fantastic curriculum and coaching for our kids programmes.

Thank you to all the parents who trust us with coaching your kids and support the gym and community we have built.

And thanks to all of our combat kids who turn up every week, work hard, have fun and give us coaches some of our funniest and meaningful moments every week.

Holiday Programme starts tomorrow.
