Thanks Adam Tennis Central Region

Continuing to celebrate National Volunteer Week, we acknowledge Tennis Capital-Coast Volunteer of the Year, Adam Shelton! 🙌

Adam has had an extraordinary impact on tennis in his community through his leadership, vision, and dedication, taking on workloads that would normally be spread across an entire team.

From organising competitions, coaching players, and supporting club operations, to leading major club development projects including solar power and court-lighting upgrades, Adam has helped create a stronger future for tennis at his club.

He contributes around 30 volunteer hours each week in summer to help the game thrive.

What a superstar Adam, Thank you for everything you do.! 🙏

LOVE having Brendan on our team. Thank you!

LOVE having Brendan on our team. Thank you!

Continuing our celebration of National Volunteer Week, we head to the mighty Waikato to acknowledge Brendan! đź’Ş

As Junior Convener at Beerescourt Tennis Club and a driving force behind junior tennis initiatives, Brendan dedicates countless hours to organising competitions, running Winter Hits sessions, managing teams, and supporting young players both on and off the court.

Whether he's helping his club, coordinating opportunities for juniors, or travelling as a team manager, Brendan's reliability, generosity, and can-do attitude help create positive experiences for young tennis players across the region.

Thank you, Brendan, for everything you do. 🙏

National Volunteer Week 2026

This week we recognise and celebrate the volunteers who ensure that grassroots tennis is vibrant and successful! Let's say a HUGE thanks, starting with Tennis Marlborough

This week is National Volunteer Week! 🙌

Tennis in Aotearoa relies on so many hardworking and passionate volunteers. This week we're celebrating a small number of volunteers who continuously show up for their community.

Kerie Smith in Marlborough totally embodies the volunteer spirit. Since joining Tennis Marlborough as Treasurer in 2022, she's done it all - from redesigning marketing materials and creating a new logo, to running tournaments, securing grants, handling IT, and even stepping in as volunteer administrator for an entire year!

Thank you, Kerie, for everything you do. 🙏

For Nick & Heath, it’s simple, turn up with mates, no pressure, just play.

“You book a court; you play the way you want to.”

For many young adults, tennis works best when it’s social, flexible, and fun, not defined by pressure or commitment. Nick’s story tells us that the future of tennis may be as simple as creating spaces where young people feel welcome to just turn up and play.

"Atmosphere was great. The volunteers helping out on the court with the kids was fantastic. Our coach, Richard, did a great job and was on the court the entire time. Overall our Love Tennis Crew made this a successful day."
