At the end of last year, we kicked off our fundraising efforts for the club with a cash raffle. Last week, we finally sold the last ticket on the sheet and were able to draw a winner.
πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Rachel P., who received the $100 cash prize! πŸŽ‰
A big thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and supported our fundraising efforts β€” we really appreciate it.
As a non-profit karate club, we’ll be running more fundraisers over the next year and a half to help keep training fees as low as possible, so karate remains affordable for everyone. These efforts will also help subsidise costs for our senior students’ 2027 trip to Okinawa, where they’ll have the opportunity to train with the masters.
Thank you again for being part of and supporting our club πŸ₯‹

Another year has come to an end, and what an amazing year it has been! We've witnessed new Kyu grades rising through the ranks and welcomed new members to our awesome karate club. It's incredible to see how we keep getting stronger every year.

This year has also been special as we saw two new Shodans join the black belt ranks - Mary-jane Thompson in April and Jose Walters Rangitihi in October. Their dedication and hard work demonstrated just how skilled they are, and we are all proud of their achievements.

I would like to extend a big thank you to all the seniors, especially Ray Peat , who works tirelessly with the juniors and imparts the Goju Ryu knowledge to our younger students. Another big mention goes to Sensei Hayden Wilmott, who keeps us on our toes and provides us with the necessary knowledge to stay on the path of Goju Ryu Karate.

As we head into the holiday season, I encourage you all to keep training. Another great year is ahead of us, and I can't wait to see what we will achieve together.
