Long time North Canterbury Cycling Club member Ben Oliver wins in Europe!!!!

For anyone that has been following Ben on his first European pro road season this year you’ll know that he’s been very close to a win numerous times and a result like this has been brewing all season.

Massive congrats to Ben, the Olivers and all those that have helped him get there.

First pro win for Ben. First win in Europe for the team. Ben moves into the GC lead. What a ride by the boys.

Thanks to everyone that came along to the NCCC open day at Ashley Forest yesterday (Sunday) morning.

As you can see from the photos below a stunning morning greeted everyone as they gathered for the group rides. The clouds started to build after an hour or so but it stayed dry and relatively calm until well after the last riders headed for home.

We estimate we had roughly 70-80 people there for the open day, with many of them enjoying their first ride in the Ashley Forest. All rides finished at around 12noon and most people enjoyed a BBQ sausage and a chat afterwards. Thanks to all the club and committee members who helped out with both the organising, the BBQ and playing guide on the day, it was much appreciated.
