Hey everyone,
Thanks to everyone who has replied whether able to make it tomorrow or not.
Looking forward to our team get together tomorrow arvo, 1pm at Waikuku Beach Domain, by the paddling pool 👍 Food is all sorted, jjust bring something to drink.

Remember to bring chairs, something for a run around (cricket, touch, frisbee 😉) and some warm gear as not sure it will be too warm 😏 🏉

Also, don't forget club prize giving Monday 26 September, 6.30pm in the Rakahuri building. Would be great to have a full team turnout if poss 😉😜

Thanks everyone who replied about our get together, much appreciated.

So, the majority consensus is to go ahead with this Sunday 25th September, 1pm, a bit earlier than the original time of 2pm but there are a few with other plans so if you can make it, let's congregate from 1pm then we can head away earlier, or not 😉. We won't start cooking until 2ish anyway.

Where: Waikuku Reserve (by the paddling pool and playground). Bring some chairs and a couple of game options: cricket, touch if you have them.

WHAT I NEED TO KNOW: Exact numbers of who is coming so I can organise the food. Please let me know Thursday LATEST!
Please also let me know if you cannot make it just so I know everyone has got the info.

Hey gang, I sent an email on 1/9/22 about our end of season catch up which we were looking at Sunday 25th, but now with the Queen's passing and the public holiday on Monday 26th this may mean that some of you are going to take the opportunity to get away.

Can you please let me know by this Thursday at the latest if it still suits you to catch up Sunday 25th. We will go with the majority. If we don't do the catchup on the 25th we will realistically have to reschedule for next term as there is a lot going on for the end of this term, then school holidays, summer sport and Labour weekend. We may even need to look at a week afternoon/evening to fit it in.

FYI: the RHS Club Prizegiving is still Monday 26th September, 6.30pm at school.

So thought it time to get back to organising our team's end of season catchup!! Now that the season is well over, tournament week is done, the weather has got warmer and drier and summer sport is just around the corner!!

The coaches and I have had a confer and we thought Sunday 25th September, 2pm at the Waikuku Reserve (by the paddling pool and playground) would be a good time and place. There is a BBQ there, plenty of space for a game of touch or backyard cricket and for sunchairs!

Thank you everyone for your contributions toward the end of season hoolie, we certainly won't go hungry.

The RHS Rugby Prizegiving is Monday 26th September, 6.30pm so it will be good to wrap everything up at the same time.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you are not able to make the hoolie.

Good evening everyone.

What a way to finish the season for our team yesterday, North Canterbury Champions!!!!

The way the team built towards this result is something that is extremely special, everything we asked the team to do in the last few weeks to be ready for the final they did, and yesterday this team emptied the tank and did exactly what we all knew they where capable of.
The look on our lads faces yesterday when the final whistle blew was the biggest highlight for Rossco, Steve, Tiff & I, that’s what makes it worth being a coach and manager of a sports team, the team enjoying what they do.

I want to thank all of our supporters you have been outstanding all season, we have travelled some distance this season and always had your support no matter the location and that has been so important to our team.

A big thanks to my wife Sarah for taking the photos of our games each week and posting them to tell the story of each of our games.

I want to thank Steve, Rossco and Tiff for helping me with coaching and managing the team this year.

Steve - your experience and knowledge in the backline has been huge, you have developed our backline to understand their roles and given them the confidence to own their position which is so important for these players moving up the grades over the next few years.
Rossco - your good natured coaching style has been so key to our forward pack this season and your work on our scrum and line out lifting has been outstanding, we have dominated the line out all year credit to the work you put in, I also appreciate you keeping the calm amongst us all when things weren’t quite going to plan.
Tiff - What would we have done without you!!! The Judy Bailey of the team the person who keeps it all under control and makes sure we could just get on and coach, the work you have done to keep the team ticking along in the background communicating, organising the jerseys, after matches, what was needed each week, and so much more has been amazing and hugely appreciated and key to the great season we have had.

Last of all I want to thank our players, what a group we have, it has been an absolute privilege to coach these young gentlemen, every training and every game they turned up ready to grow and improve and showed us all what it means to be a team, we gave them the plans we wanted, but credit goes to these lads for putting them in play on the field.

We will be in touch soon with what the plan is for our end of season break up hopefully we can have this in the next 2-3 weeks.

Super proud of how you boys played yesterday, you held it together, stayed strong and got the win - WICKED STUFF 😜. Well deserved, well coached, well supported by your families throughout the season and by everyone who rocked up yesterday on the sidelines 🏉🏉. It is such a pleasure to watch you play 😊.

Huge thanks to our coaching trio of Mike, Rossco and Steve - your knowledge, passion and ability to coach a bunch of teenage lads has been so wonderful to watch over the season, our boys are fortunate to have you 😊.

Sarah, your photos over the season have been incredible 😀. You have provided a real story of each game for the boys to look back on, and for family members or supporters who couldn't make the games they have been able to see them unfold through your lense. The boys probably haven't been photographed so much since they were babies 😂😂.

Boys, enjoy your win 🙌🙌

Super excited about watching you boys in the final today! Play your game, keep the chatter positive and supportive and leave it all out on the field today 😜.

Remember, there will be showers available for you after your game so bring some gear to get scrubbed up! We don't want to be dragging mud through the Plough in the afternoon 🏉.

Parents:
Food is being provided for both teams (so we don't have to bring a plate today) at the end of the game, we need to provide a couple of helpers in the kitchen from 9. 30 am. Please let me know if you can help out with that.

Hi everyone.

I just want to clarify that this week is our first game with 22 players which is so pleasing as we have played each week with at least 1 short.

No player or parent has questioned our selections at all this season and for that we thank you all very much.

This week we made our starters and finishers selections based off starting strong and finishing strong, a luxury that we have this week in a game that will take every player in the 22.

The lads responded very well to this at training and for the lads on the bench they know their time on the field is just as important as the lads starting, as for minutes we will do it how we have done it all season and every player will get at least half a game.

Bring on tomorrow morning we can’t wait.
