How many Good Trotters can we get at parkrun tomorrow for Pegasus parkrun 500th

AND HERE WE GO!!!

EVENT500

How many participants will we see on 29th August 2026 ?

Will it be 500 @ 500?
Will we exceed our Event400 participants of 716?
Will it be possible to see that magical 4- figured number of people attending.
Until this Saturday, nobody knows.
Will you be there?
We hope so.

Our founder, the awesome Jo Van Rensburg is competing at the World Masters Games in Korea currently. Here she is on her way to claiming silver in the steeplechase. Amazing result, can't wait to see how she goes in her other two events.

Come and celebrate this huge milestone with our friends at Pegasus parkrun

So far, there have been only TWO Event500's in the South Island - Dunedin 22nd June 2024 and Hagley 11th January 2025, so Pegasus parkrun is bringing you the Third Ever S.I. Event500 and are we gonna put it on for you 🌟
At Pegasus Event400 we offered up all sorts of goodies for you and over 700 of you came out to us.
This year, with a great deal of local and National support we will have something in excess of $2000 worth of Gift Cards/Vouchers to give away, there is also over $4000 worth of merchandise and products to hand out.
Only parkrun finishers and Volunteers who are on site at the time of drawing will be able to claim a prize.

Last weekend some of our Good Trotters teamed up with North Canterbury Athletic Club to race in the Lionel Fox relay at Woodend Beach. This was our local event for the cross country season so it was great to be able to support the event.
Our teams put in an awesome effort resulting in three 1st, a 2nd, a 5th and a 6th placing in the adults age grades. The juniors also put in a brilliant display even though they had to race against teams that were older than them.
Thanks to all involved for making it a great day out.

A big turnout tonight. Makes it so much easier to get out on these darker nights knowing there will be other like minded people to run (or walk) with.

Good luck to all our Good Trotters taking part in the Christchurch marathon tomorrow. You've put in the hard yards training, now go and enjoy the results.

More than 8000 people will take to the streets for this weekend’s Christchurch Marathon, the largest field in the event’s 49-year history.
