A developing MTB facility located beside the small scenic rural township of Rai Valley 40 mins from Nelson, and 35 mins from Blenheim. Rai Valley is a quaint township, with awesome surrounding terrain. The township has all the amenities that a tourist could need, with public toilets, an excellent café (the brick oven) and a cute local tavern (Rai Valley Tavern). With a host of scenic tourist desti
nations and nationally significant cycle ways close by (e.g. Tennyson Inlet bridle path track; Nydia Bay track; Wakamarina trails, Queen Charlotte Sound trail, Linkwater/Waikakaho trail) also the beautiful Brown and Rai River’s running through the township. The tourist destinations Rai Falls; Pelorus River (swimming); Okiwi Bay (fishing and beach-comers destination); French Pass (diving and fishing) and the gateway to the Marlborough Sounds, are all nearby. As you can see, Rai Valley has a lot going for it already, so it's the perfect place to start the revolution. Ride Project is place where the trail builders can be creative and imaginative and the riders reap the rewards. We have been working on Phase 1, which includes three main areas at the property:
1) a climbing trail to the top of the mountain,
2) two grade 4-5 descent lines,
3) one jump line
We now have Phase 1 of the project running mint, and are occasionally open for shuttle days via 'Scottish Express' 🥳🥳... or ...come for a dig day and get free access for the arvo. See our FB events page for the next dig day. Phase 2 = more trails and more shuttling!!!
