Great news for all our Mountains to Sea and Bridge to Nowhere riders!
If you’ve ridden the Mangapurua Track before, you’ll remember the legendary swing bridges — hopping off your bike, balancing it on the back wheel, pushing across… then waiting while your whole group did the same thing - 7 times!!

DOC has now confirmed 15 new bridges and boardwalks are being installed across the Mangapurua and Kaiwhakauka sections.
This means smoother riding, safer crossings, and no more long waits at the narrow swing bridges.

This summer will be the perfect time to come back and experience the trail again — with better flow, improved access, and the same incredible history and scenery that make this ride so special.

We’d love to welcome you back to the valley.
