The inaugural NZ Womenās Masters Tournament has officially wrapped upāand what a fantastic success it was.
As our first-ever event in this format, it exceeded expectations across the board. From the quality of cricket to the strong sense of community, the tournament provided an outstanding platform to build on for the future. Feedback from teams and players has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants praising not only the competitive matches but also the opportunity to reconnect and socialise with friends from across the cricketing network.
On the field, the competition was fierce and evenly matched throughout the two days. Many games went down to the wire, culminating in a thrilling final where NZ Police narrowly edged out Canterbury in a gripping contest to claim the title.
The tournament also showcased an impressive level of experience and talent, with Nine former internationals taking partāincluding two former Black Ferns athletesāadding depth and quality across all teams.
Off the field, the event was equally successful. With excellent weather, a superb venue, and strong support throughout, the tournament created a memorable experience for everyone involved.
We extend our congratulations to all teams for their efforts and spirit, and especially to NZ Police for taking out the inaugural title.
