Cobras Basketball Club (CBC) is happy to start introducing and sharing with you guys, the ones who are on board of this amazing team.
Please let us introduce you to Mauro Cabalcabue and his family. Mauro is the Head Coach, and founder of Cobras Basketball Club Queenstown.
Mauro arrived in Queenstown at the end of last year, 2022, looking for a better life for himself and his family. Once here, he immediately decided to create a space for the community where everyone could learn to play basketball. With the right numbers and support of people, Cobras came to life in Queesntown.
"I played basketball when I was young for many years, and then for work reasons I left it for a long time. I got back closer to it when my club, my dear Atlético 9 de Julio en Argentina, came back to play. 16 years ago, I returned accompanied by my second son Felipe, and since there, I didn't walk away from basketball never again.
I was part of the basketball subcommittee of my club and in the Chivilcoy League Commission. After a while, I played again, and I began to study to be a couch. I received my degree after two years, and I began to form and coach some teams in Argentina.
Basketball has become an essential part of my family's life for years, and we take it with us wherever we go. We are a basketball family. And now, we are the Cobras family here.
Basketball is friendship. Basketball is family. We are waiting for everyone who wants to join us on this incredible club and journey.
