50 GAMES FOR CAP! 💛💙

Our captain Aoife officially clocked up her 50th NZWIHL game at Finals, a huge milestone in a pretty special season for our Cap.

In her first season wearing the C, Aoife led from the front in every sense. She logged the most minutes of any Wild player in 2026, battled hard every shift and was someone this team could rely on game after game.

Taking on the captaincy is no small job, and Aoife brought plenty of heart, grit and passion to the role while helping lead the Wild all the way to the gold medal game.

50 games of representing the Wild, and a season to be bloody proud of.

This team has grown with every game.

What started as a group of individuals has become a team that trusts each other, backs each other and never stops fighting. Today’s semi-final win is a reflection of the work that’s gone in all season.

Another special milestone celebrated last round! 💛💙

Congratulations to Bobbie Lynette Weeks on reaching 50 NZWIHL games for the Wakatipu Wild.

Bobbie is a true Wild veteran who has been part of this club through many seasons. Her leadership, dedication and willingness to always put the team first have made a lasting impact, while her fun-loving personality keeps the dressing room smiling. She embodies what it means to wear the Wild jersey, and we’re incredibly lucky to have her as part of our team.
