In a few days' time, I'll be back on the Yukon River racing alongside Sophie Hart as Team Furtuna Skin, taking on one of the world's toughest endurance paddle races. We can't wait to get back to the start line.
Preparing for this race has been an adventure in itself. There have been glassy mornings, wild storms, hard interval sessions, long endurance paddles, and everything in between. I've spent countless hours on the water, and I've loved every part of the journey.
Now comes the part where preparation meets reality.
You can train as hard as you like, plan every detail, and do everything you can to be ready, but there is only one way to find out. On July 10 we'll push away from the start line, and over the days that follow I'll discover whether the work has been enough.
Whatever happens, I already feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to prepare for an adventure like this. Results matter, but they are never the whole story.
A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of this campaign. Whether you've paddled alongside me, sent messages of encouragement, helped behind the scenes, or simply followed the journey, I'm deeply grateful. These adventures are never achieved alone.
I'm also incredibly thankful to everyone who has supported my Sponsor a Mile fundraiser. The idea is simple: sponsor one mile of the Yukon1000 for $10, with all funds going towards creating opportunities for young people through adventure. Together we're now closing in on $2,000, which is amazing.
I know not everyone is in a position to support financially, and that's completely okay. But if you're able to sponsor just one mile, or perhaps a few, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps invest in the next generation of young adventurers.
I'll post updates from the Yukon whenever I can over the coming days. Thanks again for all the encouragement and support, it means more than you know.
If you'd like to sponsor a mile for $10, I'd be incredibly grateful. I'll put the link in the comments below.
See you on the Yukon.
