Congratulations to our rowers who have just completed their WRA winter training programmes.

A huge thank you to the Wellington Rowing Association for an awesome winter of training, racing and camaraderie! 🚣‍♀️❄️

It was a shame to see the Grunt cancelled due to the weather forecast, but that didn’t stop our winter athletes from getting together for a BBQ this morning to celebrate what has been a fantastic three programmes — Row for Life, Row for Gold and the Winter Hub.

It’s been awesome seeing athletes from across the region come together, challenge themselves and support each other throughout the winter. A special moment this morning was seeing the Row for Life athletes presented with their tops, with the wider squad there to cheer them on. 👏

A massive thank you to Jaimie, Denzell, Jono, Kate and Michelle, and to all the coaches, clubs and supporters who have given their time, equipment and facilities to make these programmes possible. Your collaboration and commitment to supporting our crews is hugely appreciated.

And of course, a big congratulations to all the athletes who have put in the work over the winter — you should be proud of what you’ve achieved! 💪

With the winter programmes now wrapped up, attention turns to the Interprovincial squad, which will be selected later this week.

Thanks again to everyone who has made this such a great winter for Wellington rowing. 💙

Throughout the course, our experienced coaching team will teach the fundamentals of rowing, including:

- Safe handling of rowing equipment

🚣Rowing is a technical and demanding sport, and even elite athletes are always working on improving their technique. Four weeks won’t make you an expert, but it’s more than enough to get you started and discover whether rowing is for you.

At PRC we have been using CrewLAB for the past three seasons with our secondary school rowers. The 2025-26 season was the first where it was used across the club including our parents, master, and supporters.

The ability to track a rowers progress from week to week, month to month, season to season is one of the main reasons that we offer this product to all members.
