Marshall Law

Marshall Law The home page of Ross 40 Marshall Law. A much loved Ross 40 built in 1983 and upgraded ever since. Raced sometimes fully crewed but mainly 2 handed.

Owned, raced, rallied, rolled and reconditioned by Craig Smith. A true cruiser racer with family holiday cruising as important as racing.

First race of the season under the belt. Couple more crew next week so we will be launching a kite and really put the girl through her paces.

Oborns Nautical Twilight - Naval Point Club New Year resolution to take Marshall Law out each week. Its hard to find crew to sail, and skippers of yachts keep their contacts list under close guard. I was scratching around without luck and gave up after a few days. So dropped Alex Cuthbert a line

So RNI off due to injury and currently waiting surgery. Looking forward to seeing the yachts battle it out starting 25th Feb.

So now Marshall Law is laid up in Te Ana Marina Lyttelton and needing some sailing. Anyone interested in Wednesday night NPC Twilight regatta for this summer season? Need a couple of people to help sail her.

Due to injury can't be sweating halyards or racing to the bow so need some able bodies to help. We fly A2 and A5 to keep it simple, If you are keen on big kites happy to run the downwind kites on the pole.

Someone to run the pit, another at the mast and a bow would be idea.

Entered the RNI 2023

Less scenic photos like this, and some back fill on the website for the journey to make sense (it never will make sense).

Moving to Lyttelton soon, new antifoul applied now just having rigging tensioned and new North Sails main fitted by Hurricane Rigging in Waikawa. Some tidy up program, sailing, and the qualifying passage to organise.
