It was a bit torrential this evening 🌧🌧 but it's a water sport after all so we did it anyways. 3 teams, 2 boats, and 1 collective very happy dragon boat vibe. 🤩

A momentous occasion - our first team submission from Auckland Dragon Boat Association!

"Isolations have made it difficult for teams to come together and train over the last month or so. Rather than cancel training due to low numbers, the Komodo Dragons Auckland and Harewha Taniwha banded together to create Komodo HT".

Welcome to the party! They submitted a Premier Mixed Standard 200m time of 01:02 (with 14 paddlers) placing them in the top 3 on the Leaderboard!

It's been a super tough season with Covid, isolations and what not. Luckily enough, we have a super amazing community and we have extended our bubble to become Komodo HT... we do love a good competition, but our main goal right now is to get out in the water and enjoy our sport.

Our stolen paddles have been returned!!!!

From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank YOU for your support with the 170 shares of our post to help find them.

They were found dumped in Mt Roskill. A lovely gentleman, dropped them off today after his trip away and man, oh man... Happy, relieved, and overwhelmed is an understatement!

Thank you everyone who has liked and shared our post about our stolen paddles- we're still on the hunt for them.

We may be carbon fibre paddle-less, but we are still going strong with smiles on our faces! We took a tiki tour with the other crews last night through Westhavens' Queen Street to explore the marina from the water.

Thank you Auckland Dragon Boat Association for loaning the wooden paddles until we're able to fundraise for new ones 🥰

Our coaches car was stolen at the weekend. The car has been recovered, but the paddles are missing, they could've been dumped for all we know...
