So this is what it's all about!!

We were pleased to be able to present Heartkids Wellington and Coastguard Wellington with cheques for $14,000 and 4,000 respectively today.

So we'll start off by saying a huge thank you to everyone for making this the biggest Petone Charity Fishing Competition yet!!!!

We are extremely pleased to announce that through all of your hard effort that we were all able to raise a grand total of $18,000 for both Heartkids Wellington who will be receiving $14,000 and Coastguard who will be receiving $4000.

It was a busy weekend and we'd like to thank everyone involved including all of the competitors for participating, the Charities for all of their help, the multitudes of volunteers who have made this competition what it is including the Petone Club's Committee members, Fishing Adjunct and other Club members who have given their time to the Competition.

Thank you to our partners at Hunting and Fishing Hutt Valley and Mediaworks for their efforts across not just the weekend but in helping to plan and run the event, we couldn't do it without you.

We would also like to acknowledge all the efforts of the Petone staff, all of your hard work in ensuring that our guests were taken care of across the weekend was greatly appreciated and invaluable to making the weekend go well.

Well that was a blinder of a weekend!!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 9th Petone Charity Fishing Competition, it was a great weekend and wouldn't have gone off without both the competitors and all the people behind the scenes.

We acknowledge we had a few technical difficulties during the weekend. Those have been fixed and the draws for the Category prizes that were to be given away as lucky anglers have been done.

Hello everyone,

We all have heard the news by now about the issues at the Moa point sewerage treatment plant.

Please note that the competition will still be going ahead with the areas indicated in the image below off limits to fish.

Please be careful out there and if you are in doubt about your catch, please do not try to weigh it in. We would love to auction off as much as we can but we will not be taking fish that have been caught from these areas.

Hello everyone,

A few days ago we reported on a bug with the registration process. This bug has been tough to fix and thus we have disabled online registrations.

Entry can still be done at the Petone Club from 6:00pm tomorrow or by coming into the Club beforehand.

If you have registered and seen a message saying that you were in the first 120 adults or 40 juniors, our apologies but this was in error.
