Update:

Our AGM went well and our new executive has been appointed. Please allow us a few weeks to set up our systems. Memberships will officially open from 5th Jan 2022.

An open evening is being planned for 5pm Friday 7th January. Details will be posted here and on the patea community page.

Reminder the Club has a charitable focus on education and water safety by promoting and assisting young surfers and surf club members. Any person who agrees with the objectives of the Club may, subject to the Committee’s approval, become a member of the Club upon payment of the membership subscription.

This year the clubhouse has been repainted, new roof, new carpet, doors, locks and we are now on the hunt for furnishings until we do a full refit later next year. Dean has been running some surf lessons and these will continue next year.

Update 2021:

Kia ora Koutou

I’ve recently had a number of inquiries about the hire and usage of the clubrooms and thought it timely to provide our members with an update.

As many of you know we are now an established legal entity and processes are in place to recognise our not-for-profit status. Once this is complete, we will continue to build our infrastructure so our organisation can support and manage a wide range of services and activities.

Clubroom renovations have been progressing and the roof has been replaced and the building has been painted inside and out with minor to major patch work underway. Our stairway has had a strut replaced and a few stairs replaced but the work continues. We are nearing completion of stage one in the renovations, but more funds are needed before we can move into stage two which is outfitting the space and then making it available to our members.

We have our monthly committee meeting this Wednesday at 5.30pm at the clubrooms. Members are welcome to attend. I will continue to post monthly updates, so members are informed on how we are progressing.

Patea Board Riders & Surf Club would like to extend our appreciation to all members and Patea Community for the time they have given to the ongoing maintenance of our ClubRooms slowly but surely we are getting there, the new roof will hopefully be going on soon and then.....Watch this space 😀🥳

Welcome to The Patea Board Riders & Surf Club official page.
We hope everyone has stayed safe and well during the current Covid-19 pandemic, as a country we should be all proud of ourselves as we move down the levels and readjust our lives Just in time for some swell and decent surf.
Its great to see the numbers of our membership growing this year it shows the need for our club to actively create a whanau friendly club for all ages and genders in our sport.

2020
The new committee is meeting and will be putting in place a Strategic plan for our club’s future.
Some Amazing things are going to be happening so Jump on board whanau all new members welcome don’t miss the wave.
It is with huge enthusiasm that our club is currently renovating and fixing up our tired old clubrooms,
With a little bit of muscle (Billy&Rob) and a bobcat (Thanks Dean) and some amazing generous koha we have moved a lot of sand that has built up around the club down the beach over the years, still need to move more hopefully the weather will change for that so we can muck in and waterblast, paint and replace the roofing to get our old girl back into that summer bikini that we can be proud of.
We are working hard in getting everything to a place where we can apply for funding but time is of the essence and funds are needed asap for the Roof first and foremost as she will surely get hammered this winter.
