A huge thank you to Rainaway Spouting On The Spot for getting our shiny new spouting installed at Carrington Bowling & Croquet Club, with support from Carterton District Council .

☔ Judging by today’s forecast, it’s about to get a very enthusiastic first test! ☔

We’re incredibly grateful for the support that helps us keep our clubrooms in good shape and ready for the season ahead.

If your own spouting is looking a little less “Rainaway” and a little more “rain everywhere” 😬, give the team at Rainaway a shout - they certainly looked after us.

What a great Opening Day! 🥳 It was fantastic to see so many of our regular faces back on the green, along with a few new ones too.

Even a bit of rain couldn’t put everyone off, with some brave souls heading out to have a go anyway! 🌧️

A big thank you to Steve Cretney - Mayor - Carterton District Council for joining us and doing the honours with the first bowl and first croquet hoop of the season, officially getting our new season underway.

Thanks to everyone who came along, helped out, brought food, welcomed our visitors and made the afternoon such a lovely one. It was especially nice to see some new faces giving bowls and croquet a go.

Have you ever wondered if bowls or croquet might be your thing? 👀

Now’s your chance to find out! Carrington Bowling & Croquet Club is holding an Open Day next Sunday at 2pm, and everyone’s welcome.

Bring the kids, round up your mates, or just come along on your own. We’re a friendly bunch and we’d love to see you there!

Never played before? Perfect. We’ll have experienced players on hand to show you the basics, give you a few pointers and get you out on the green.

We’ll have about an hour of play, followed by afternoon tea and a chance to meet some of the club members.

No experience needed. No need to know the rules. Just turn up and give it a crack!

🎉 And that’s a wrap on our Winter Gala! 🎉

What a great day on the green. The wind made sure nobody had it too easy, but there was plenty of good bowls, good company and laughs along the way.
